We are a unique company on a mission to provide meaningful employment and equal opportunity to individuals experiencing disabilities.
This is Laura :) She loves Zac Efron (don't get her started), ice cream cake and art (especially painting). Her aid, Hannah Lee, and her husband Hiva Lee, recognized she had a real talent to share. After researching the challenges individuals experiencing disabilities face in finding and maintaining work, they realized they could do something about it.
Hannah and Hiva started #Laurasgreetings, a company that allows individuals experiencing disabilities to be artists and designers- a field of work where they are largely excluded. We are proud to present Laura's first collection of greeting cards and are excited to introduce you to our next designers soon!
Backing our project supports our vision to offer this employment opportunity to as many people as possible. We need your help-but we want to help you too!
We have a created a subscription service for your convenience. You get our cards delivered, straight to your door several times a year, just in time for special occasions and major holidays!
We have offered special Kickstarter rewards at a deal for being some of Laura's first customers. We plan to ship all around the world (please be mindful of the duties/shipping arrangements of your respective country), but enjoy free domestic shipping on us!
STRETCH GOAL ANNOUNCEMENT :)
Thank you to all of our backers, friends who shared our campaign, and people who believe in our mission! We set our initial goal at the MINIMUM amount necessary to fund our first production run. Now we are announcing our first stretch goal of $10,000 to cover some of the expenses towards an industrial printer! Let's make this happen <3 Thank you for being part of our journey! There is a lot of work to be done in addressing the challenges of disability unemployment- but this is a great start.
Risks and challenges
The risks facing our company are relatively low, but we have taken measures to ensure the companies success. Like many consumer products, there is always competition. However, we have a unique subscription model that not only provides convenience but purpose behind every purchase.
Other risks could include supply chain challenges, including hiccups in shipping and printing. However we have an established team of entrepreneurs with experience not only in Kickstarter projects but in sales, distribution and customer service. As our company grows, these risks will be mitigated.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
