PreForm Update to 0.8.2

We're working hard, over here. Shipping printers is our top priority, but we're also working at improving and tweaking our software. Four weeks after our last software update, we’re pleased to announce our next software release, PreForm 0.8.2, now available for download

We've been listening to your feedback in our forums and tracking your bug reports. PreForm 0.8.2 provides a number of significant improvements and features over 0.8.1. Most excitingly, for those of you working with large, complex models, like that of @polysculpture's below, you should see significantly-improved framerates and graphics handling.

To download the latest version of our software, head to If you’ve already downloaded PreForm, simply open it again, and you’ll be guided through the upgrade process automatically.

We have many more exciting updates planned. Apple users, stay tuned. We continue to make progress on a Macintosh-compatible version of PreForm and we'll get it out to you as soon as it's ready.

@Wendell Smith Update #28 mentioned these. I too am waiting for one. They seem to have updated them a bit and it is just going to take time to get them all produced. 3d printers are not mass productions machines; I don't care how many you have in the warehouse :)

The graphics performance is great. I did not notice a better surface finish with the new software. In fact, some of the supports that were printed looked like spaghetti.

I noticed the improved graphics almost immediately - good work!

I've also noticed that the last few prints I did came out better, but it didn't "click" that it might be because of the software update... sa-weeet! I can't wait to try my next 25-micron print!

      Mac version eh..? Alrighty.

Have not received my Gyrocube. Can someone give me shout on what I need to do to get the reward.

Could we have more details on these points to understand what that will change in our print/usage?
      - New offline logging system to allow us to track issues and iterate more quickly
      - Improved laser tracking for better surface-finish
For the second one, it would be great if you had comparison pictures before/after...
