About The Game
Forgotten Times is a brand new card game that will be entering the trading card game market. The player can play as either a Roman Emperor, Egyptian Pharaoh, or Viking King. Face your opponent head to head. Each player will have have unique cards based on the Empire chosen. Each Empire will have three hero cards, soldier cards, a castle card [can be upgraded], armor cards, and specialty cards. The object of the game is to destroy your opponents castle. To do this, the player will need to have a superior strategy while attacking with their soldier and hero cards. However, a game can change at any minute with the use of specialty cards. You can only have one copy of any specialty card, so it is key when you decide to play these cards. These cards can make or break your game.

Basic Game Setup Tutorial Video
Only one hero card can be in play at any given time. The hero affects what your SOLDIER CARD(S) can do. Each HERO CARD has a different effect. You can have a max of 3 HERO CARDS in your DECK. If you want to gamble, you can have all the same type of HERO CARD if you wish. Each starter deck will come with one of each type of hero [Infantry, Range, and Calvary]. Hero cards are your last line of defense before your opponent can attack your castle.
This is the basic unit card that will be used for Attacking and Defending. Some of these cards have powerful abilities that can be used when you play them or when they are killed. Read each card's ability carefully and try to make the best possible deck you can with them.
You can only have a total of 5 of these cards in your DECK. You can only have 1 copy of any of the RARE or higher armor cards [Look at the color of the diamond], 2 copies of any UNCOMMON armor card, and as many as you want for COMMON armor. These cards can be played on SOLDIER CARDS or HERO CARDS, but not CASTLE CARDS.
These cards are the most valuable. By valuable, we mean these cards are what keeps you alive in the game. There are three phases to the CASTLE CARDS as seen below:
Wood Castle ➧ Stone Castle ➧ Kingdom
Now you can only get to the next phase if you already have the previous phase in play. To clarify, you start with the wooden castle. You can only upgrade to the Stone Castle. If you draw your Kingdom castle card before the Stone castle, then you simply have to hold on to it until you draw your Stone castle card.
These cards are your lifeline in the game. You are only able to have a max of 15 of them and there cannot be any duplicates. So it is important that you choose wisely, and even more importantly, know when to play them. A specialty card can be played only during your turn, unless otherwise specified on the card.

Buffs and Debuffs
Part of the strategy to the game is how you build your deck and how you will attack with it. You gain BUFFS and DEBUFFS from the type of unit you use. HERO CARDS grant extra AP [Attack Point] to similar units as itself. Also each unit type is strong against a certain type of unit and weak against another. The BUFF/DEBUFF will be determined by the type of attacking unit and the type of defending unit. Below is a table:
Our standard HERO CARDS that are found in the starter decks grant +1 AP per BF. Meaning you can get up to a +3 AP and additional +1 AP if the defending unit is weak against your attacking unit card.
Example: You have the starter Calvary HERO CARD in play with 3 BF cards under it. You place Cavalry SOLDIER CARD that has a base of 2 AP. You decide to attack an Infantry SOLDIER CARD that has a base of 6 HP. With your BUFF from your HERO CARD, the new AP will be 5. Additionally you grant 1 additional AP for the type of unit you are facing, bringing the final AP to 6 and killing your opponent's card in one hit, while only losing a lower level card in the process.
The cards that we are giving away as rewards will be our Alpha set. All these cards will have a Alpha symbol on them, along with a 1st Edition mark. We plan on going from Alpha, to Beta, and finally to mass production [If we succeed with Alpha and Beta sets]. So what does this mean for the contributor? Well really nothing. You still receive a copy of the game, it's just an early copy of the game and there may be changes to the cards or may even be removed all together. However, this can simply increase the cards value if the game becomes large enough. We are a self production company and our Alpha and Beta sets will be produced at a set amount and never reprinted with the Alpha or Beta logos on them, making your cards extremely limited. On top of this, we will have Alpha and Beta booster sets to make our legendary cards even more exclusive and limited. This brings a unique experience to the collection part of the game and to all the contributors from Kickstarter.
Deluxe Collectors Edition Pack
For our Deluxe Collectors Edition Pack you get everything you see in the picture, except you only choose one starter deck as all three are shown. The dice set in this pack are metal and of high quality. In all the videos and pictures we use these dice. The backer will have an option to choose from either Red or Green numbered metal dice. We will also have options for the playmat, more likely we will have one for each Empire. The only item missing from this photo are the booster packs. We will include 5 booster packs with the pack.
We have a full length back story to the game that we will release on successfully funding this campaign. However, we will give a quick explanation of the back story to give the backers a feel for the lore of the game. A roman soldier by the name of Quintus lost his wife while she was giving birth to their son. Angry at the Gods, Quintus decided to steal Chronos', the God of Time, hour glass and go back in time to save his wife's life. However, what Quintus did not know, was that no mortal man can control the hour glass powers. Unable to control the power of the hour glass, the concept of time has been lost. There is no longer a past or present. Quintus would start what would be known as the Dark Ages. Without a past or present, ancient demons and Empires are stuck in the same time period. Ancient demons that use to walk the earth long before man, are free to walk in this realm now. Zeus, the son of Chronos, would help his father find the stolen hour glass and restore time to its original state. After retrieving the hour glass and restoring time back to the original state, Zeus would become the new King of the Gods. However, the damage from what Quintus did would never be forgotten, and the Dark Ages lasted for over 500 years.
Risks and challenges
As far as risk goes for this project, there really are none. We have mapped out our total cost that we need to cover everything from production, shipping, Kickstarter Fees, and even artist fees. So if we hit our goal we will produce a large amount of Alpha sets and hopefully let the game become popular. However, if we don't get funded it doesn't mean you can't get a copy of the game. We can still send out very small amounts of copies of the game, but this campaign is more for trying to cut down on cost and help spread the word.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
