INSIDE THE CODEX PART III: FROM RESEARCHES TO GRAPHISM
Today we would like to introduce to you the graphic researches made by our team.
The following pages are based on workshops driven by Alain Damasio, a team of experts and Forge Animation' artistic team. Our designers worked both with the Codex and the roadmaps of those workshops. They oriented their designed on an artistic AND technical feasibility.
Here the idea is to work on the wind flows, deformations and efforts that the faces will undergo.
Work in progress at different levels for the animation and the video game:
We started with Asian influences and then tend to an Arabic influence.
The Beauty of a Queen…could figure out the idea of the royal power of Oroshi.
What if the Windwalkers evolved from birds?
By Viktor Kavalkech, concept-artist
Keeping the overall shape of the head and leaving features in a similar positions as the Earth humans, we could spawn a wide variety mixing up human races and types of birds. I made a basic head that could go anywhere from Asian to African with simply manipulating certain volumes.
The reason I like this design is the fact they look human, but have obvious non-human characteristics, yet familiar to the human eyes. You can imagine variations of the ears, eye, cheeks etsc, but what’s solid is the structure and anatomy logic, which is a solid base for variations, different enough from humans and yet strangely familiar.
