Football Fortunes 2019 is the official remake of the 80s classic board and computer football management game Brian Clough’s Football Fortunes. The game allows up to six players to experience the thrills and spills of managing a football club. From player recruitment to finances, tactical nous to underhanded dealings you’ll be in charge from the boot room to the board room.Last updated:
Managers take control of their football clubs. They will take turns to move on the game board, having their clubs, finances, playing squads and more affected by landing on squares such as Manager’s Luck, Selection Problems, Crises, Player (Free Agent) Auctions and much more. Check out our in-depth video on how to play Football Fortunes 2019 here https://youtu.be/Mvzne3SMIis
Meanwhile the game’s app takes care of the complicated stuff, like who wins matches (based on inputted player ratings), league standings, cups and ultimately who wins the game based on success factors like trophies and finances.

The game is for 2-6 players with the app controlling the other teams that aren't managed by humans.Last updated:
Fittingly the average game time to complete a couple of seasons is 90 minutes, this can be cut shorter by having a smaller league and therefore fewer fixtures.Last updated:
To help managers to organise their playing squads we’ve developed deluxe Player Mats. The mats are used to layout the manager’s playing squads, to help them remember their team ratings for input more easily. Our Player Mats are A3 in size and are made of neoprene with a waterproof coating on top, we’ve made them to last!Last updated:
For those of you familiar with the original game we’ve added and extensively tested -
Transfer Windows - all human managers at the start and middle of each season in the game will begin a player auction each with players being signed by the highest bidder.
Staff - managers will now have an upgradeable coach and an optional scout on their staff who will help them to sign and improve players.
Youth Players - managers can now adopt a strategy whereby they improve youth players from zero star players into five star world beaters as opposed to signing expensive established players.
New Crises - Fans of the original game will remember the soul destroying moment that a crisis hit! We’ve introduced a few more different types of crisis, just to make things even more painful!
All new Selection Problems and Manager’s Luck - we’ve introduced new ways to influence the fortunes of your playing squad and also the fate of your club as you move through the game.
Bungs! - you'll remember Immunity Cards that can we used to get out of bad Selection Problems, Manager's Luck or Crisis situations? We thought that was a bit old hat and we've made them Bungs instead where you can buy your way out of trouble!
No Utility Players - the Youth Players in the new game are similar to the Utility Players of old in that they can play in any position except for goal.
No Bank Finance - We took away bank finance as we felt that loan and transfer lists added a new element to the game.
Formations - You can now pick your match day lineup in one of seven formations allowing you to be more tactical about how you play the game.
Sundays are now International Breaks (remember the days when there was no football on a Sunday??) and there's only one on the board to keep the game flowing.Last updated:

As creators one of the hardest choices to make is where to manufacture your game. We have done extensive research into this in the last 18 months reading reams of books, blog posts and even going to UK Game Expo to meet with a number of manufacturers from all over the world.
In the end it came down to a choice between manufacturing in the EU (while the UK is still in it) or going to China for printing. Going to China, while much cheaper on a per unit basis, would mean not being able to oversee the manufacturing process and especially quality control. It would also add months to delivery (and the closer we get to Xmas you could start adding a few more months due to international shipping chaos). Also there's the ever present threat of tariffs given that no-one knows the political situation we'll find ourselves in post October.
In the end we looked at the pricing of the original game with was £14.99 at launch and adjusted it for inflation from 1987 to the present day. Low and behold, in 2018 at least, it was around £40.
At £40 (plus shipping) we can make the game in our home country of Ireland with a six week turnaround meaning that post a successful Kickstarter we will be able to deliver in plenty of time for Christmas. Meaning you can gift the game safe in the knowledge that it will be there under the Christmas tree as so many of you have said you'd like to do.
Also we have no plans for a retail version of the new game or retail pricing, it won't be available for less anywhere after the Kickstarter. If we have extra copies we'll be selling them exclusively through our websiteLast updated:
Only the greatest football management game ever made IMHO! Check out our YouTube video on the original game here https://youtu.be/FI8yCY-O9LULast updated:
