FOOD THAT WORKS: Real Meals that Survive the 9 to 5.
I am raising money for a 2015 Book Tour to sell Food That Works cookbook, face-to-face, to hard-working Americans, nationwide!
I have already invested all my personal savings into the production of this book, which paid for several rounds of testing, a photographer, and two very talented teams of cookbook editors, and book designers.
I am proud to announce that I will be self-publishing Food That Works in 2015! Now, I need your help to raise a minimum of $6,500 to get this book the publicity it deserves. Food That Works is a 200 page, 7.5" x 9.2" cookbook, matte cover, matte interior, full color, with photographs, illustrations and funky collage elements, being published with Ingram Spark.

What this book does:
Risks and challenges
WHY: I am asking for your support to help me with the most important phase of this massive book project which is the marketing and promotion. With your generous backing I will be able to get this book out and into the hands of the people who need it most, the hungry, busy, hard working American 9-to-5'ers, like yourself!
RISK: The only risk I see is the possibility of a slight push in schedule meeting the publication deadline of Spring 2015. As with any book, there is always potential for hiccups in the final stages of production. But the money is down people, there is no going back, this book is being born in 2015! I have an amazing crew of editors and designers on my team and I am confident that together we will churn out a fabulous book.
CHALLENGE: The challenges I foresee on this book tour is that I am one person, trying to coordinate a lot of moving parts; booking events, travel arrangements, corporate office wellness seminars, radio and TV time, interviews, book signings, college presentations and grocery store tours. (Oh? You thought a book tour sounded like a vacation?!) But with your backing, I will no longer feel like one person, I will feel like MANY! Hip-Hip-HOORAY! And for this, I will keep my backers posted via social media and written postcards. So you can share in the serendipitous events that unfold along the way and witness what you have helped me to accomplish! For those of you who know me, you know how dedicated I am to this project. For those of you who don't know me yet, well, just trust, that when I say I am going to do something, I DO IT. "Pain & Glory!"
PLAN: The plan is to travel for 2 months straight on a minimalist budget, hitting as many cities as possible. In these cities I will do demos and presentations at offices regarding workplace wellness and explain the Food That Works concept. Fortunately, I am a well-seasoned, thrifty gypsy traveler, which I attribute to several solo stints living abroad and intentionally running a minimalist lifestyle. I am great with money and I will supplement your donations by staying with friends as much as possible, eating from my "Purse Kitchen," and using my large amount of JetBlue points that I have been squirreling away for this very occasion. eep ep eppp. But the amount of money we raise will determine the amount of cities I can visit, the amount of visibility I get and the amount of advertising I can do.
YOUR $$$: Your funds will be used primarily for food, rental cars, gas, some air fare, some hotels, shipping expenses to deliver books to the location I am visiting, promotional items like magnets, stickers, flyers, business cards, and marketing fees for radio, TV, adds in local papers, etc. Luckily, I have amazing connections lined-up nationwide to help me accomplish these tasks.
MY DREAMS: Beyond helping me promote my book on this tour, your support is helping me launch a career in workplace wellness. Using my experience as a wellness coach I want to help professionals organize their thoughts, create balance in their lives and achieve their wellness goals. Your dollars can change the path of my life and I well with tears of joy to think you would be willing to be a part of that. Thank you, thank you, thank you in advance for your unwavering support. You have helped me get this far, NOW, LET'S DO THIS! EeeeeiiiiiiiLearn about accountability on Kickstarter
