Flytrap Factory Presents 'Heroics Incorporated' Creeples
A new concept in Roleplaying character representation, designed initially for our local Dungeons and Dragons group is now made public.
Ladies and Gentlemen
Welcome to the Kickstarter campaign launch of our 'Heroics Incorporated' Creeples range of Roleplaying game character pieces and gaming assets. (They make great Key-chain decorations too)
Designed for use in any of your favourite RPG fantasy settings or systems 'Heroics Incorporated' Creeples are a new concept in gaming miniature designed for those who perhaps have not utilised tabletop miniatures in their adventures yet for whatever reason, or for those who do not have the required time to paint more elaborate pieces and who still would like to include miniature use in their gaming sessions.
The Heroics Incorporated concept materialised one evening on a drive home from our regular Thursday night gaming group Dungeons and Dragons 5e sessions. We were only early into the campaign at this point and had not yet acquired a range of miniatures suitable for our purposes so we resorted to using coloured wooden blocks as tokens to represent our characters in combat. With our (Flytrap Factorys) involvement in the tabletop miniatures industry I thought it would be a fun exercise to develop a small range of basic yet customiseable figures and gaming assets including terrain and a currency system that we could swap the tokens out for and enhance our gaming experience.
The first wave of figures and characters were drawn directly from DnD5e Players handbook and Monster Manual and includes 6 main characters to serve as the concepts heroes and a slew of monsters to represent the adversaries we encounter in game.
The design was completed in short order and we move directly to sculpting, prototyping, moulding and casting the first production iteration of 'Heroics Incorporated' as displayed today.
It was shortly thereafter that the idea to offer these handcrafted creations to the wider gaming community materialised. After all, if we liked what we had created enough to a point where would move to use them in sessions ahead then perhaps others would also... so here we are today asking you to come aboard, join our guild and support this unique little campaign.
The Creeples: Our Creeple designs are simple, basically 25mm tall characterised and stylised representations of the core character classes and monster encounters cast in white metal alloy. Sculpted surfaces are not cluttered with hyper detail and the Creeples lend themselves very well to quick and effective paint jobs from even the most inexperienced or time stricken modeller.
The Weapons: Weapon choices are 100% optional, they come supplied seperately and are designed to be pinned easily to each Creeple with the aid of a pin vice or other small drill piece. Weapons have an integral metal tab which allows easy attachment with or without the application of glue which enables players to swap out weapon configurations and equipment options as they deem fit.
The Bases: Creeples are also supplied unattached with a urethane resin sculpted base allowing sturdy placement on the gaming table.
The Trees: We have created a small series of terrain aids to help spice up your roleplaying gaming table. Simple to put together and paint up these two part resin trees come with a trunk module and a shrub module. Thrown in to this pack as an added sweetener is a scattering of rocky outcrops to add just a little more depth.
The Currency: Finally we have created our own unique currency for use in our roleplaying games. These 25mm round coins have the head of the king embossed on one side with the mailed gauntlet of the kingdom on the reverse. These are supplied in two quantities and are cast in white metal alloy which gives them a fantastic aesthetic and a satisfactory heft of quality.
The Nuts and Bolts
There is one main purpose to this Kickstarter campaign and that is to aid us in the requisition of resources sufficient to deliver this range to our global customers, Polyurethane resin (people friendly, odorless quality casting resin). White Metal Alloy to deliver hardy accessories and quality hefty elements to our figures and all the moulding rubber we require, both in the form of 9' rubber blanks for vulcanisation and white metal casting as well as Silicone RTV rubber for pressure casting our cold cast materials.

Risks and challenges
Risks and challenges
Risk is minimal for this campaign. Flytrap Factory is an experienced miniatures company which has operated successfully for five years and has a reputation for both quality, communication and reliability.
This is 'Flytrap Factorys' fifth Kickstarter campaign. We have been involved in two partnered up with 'Zombiesmith Miniatures' and this is our third going solo. Flytraps latest Kickstarters 'The Black Toofed Rebellion' and 'Caveman Vs Wild' were both successes and have both been completed to fulfillment.
Anton has been sculpting, molding and casting for 15 years for both of his own companies (previously Flashpoint Miniatures/ now Flytrap Factory) as well as other client companies in need of sculpting/molding or manufacturing solutions. These companies include Special Artizan Services Miniatures, Warlord Games, Treefrog Games, Battlefront Miniatures, Zombiesmith Miniatures, Mike Bravo Miniatures, Campaign Books and Hobby logistics, IDesigns, Flashpoint Miniatures (Reloaded), Clearhorizon Miniatures, Worlds End Publishing, ACP Games, Microworld Games, Siege Works Studios, Sword and Boardgames and others my old brain can't quite remember at this point.
All miniatures as depicted in the photographs have already been sculpted and tabbed and are ready for molding.
All casting/manufacturing and packaging will be done on site by Anton in Flytraps manufacturing premises here in New Zealand. If this project is funded, both master and production molds will be created immediately upon the conclusion of this campaign and casting will begin once molds are completed.
Based on previous experience with our suppliers and given the time of the year we are operating in we expect the first miniatures to be delivered no longer than 6 months following the completion of the campaign. We expect all pledges to be fully completed and in the hands of our supporters no later than October 2017.
Should the campaign go completely bonkers successful Flytrap Factory has allies in both the United States and the United Kingdom who are on standby to step in and assist us in the delivery of this project. However with projected dates and expected success I do not foresee any problems in a timely conclusion and fulfillment period.
Regardless, updates and progress reports will be posted regularly and Anton will be on hand to the best of his ability to answer questions. Also feel free to pm Anton via Facebook where he is never too far away to chat :)Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
