On a very random, very ordinary day, Henry meets Jack; a quirky magical chair and its enormous hot air balloon. From the moment Henry meets the mysterious old Queen Anne chair, his life is NEVER ordinary again. After all, it's not every day that a chair comes to life! Henry must learn to believe in himself and to believe in the magic around him as he discovers the answers to lifelong questions about his late father and his own identity, his birthright, and his destiny.
Join Henry, Jack and others on their quest for the Golden Pin as they lead the mysterious Order of the Flyer in a battle against the nefarious Roman Hatfield who seeks to take control of London, its citizens, and ultimately, the Order's fleet of magical furniture. Enjoy adventure, Victorian charm, and fantasy with a little dash of steampunk.
The completed novel is in its second stage of editing and nearly ready for publishing. Our designer is hard at work creating amazing visuals for both the book and website. Excited doesn't even begin to describe it. The funds raised by this campaign will help with various costs associated with publishing The Great Flyer. Help me to share my story with the world. Kickstarter is a great way to bring the story to readers in a more timely manner. Traditional publishing can take years of editing and marketing before a book is actually released to the public. Backers get exclusive rewards and by that I mean eBooks, special edition copies of The Great Flyer and tons of bonus content. Top tier backers get input on the development of a character for the second novel, The Search for the Sacred Heart. The greater the pledge, the more amazing rewards await you.
I am Kathryn Day-McCutcheon, author of The Adventures of the Flying Furniture: The Return of the Great Flyer. I am a visual artist, illustrator and writer from Louisiana and currently live in Dallas, TX. I began writing the Flying Furniture novel during my graduate studies in London. Inspired by the history and patina of the city, I began to develop each character based on people and places I had visited in the United Kingdom and Paris. I am a storyteller. I am pretty sure I got it from my Grandmother and have so enjoyed building the story for each balloon and each flyer. The Return of the Great Flyer is not the end but the beginning of a series of great tales that I am eager and excited to tell.
J Ryan McCutcheon- Flying Furniture creator: Ryan created the original Flying Furniture illustrations in 2012 after a trip to London. The illustrations have evolved over the years to include more in-depth character development and story lines. Ryan is a graphic designer and fabricator from Dallas, Texas with a degree in telecommunications and animation. He specializes in public art and prop and set fabrication and design.
Anne Theriot- graphic designer and illustration, concept designer: Anne is a graphic designer from Sarepta, Louisiana and graduated from Louisiana Tech with a BFA in graphic design and a minor in studio art. She enjoys working with and designing for a variety of materials from mural painting, digital illustration and creating identity systems. Anne loves to make things and communicate ideas through art and design. She has been active in developing the digital concept designs for the Flying Furniture.
