About this project
Fluid Sunwear is a revolutionary swimwear line offering women, across the globe, a swimsuit that fits her body perfectly and flawlessly regardless of height, body shape or location.
Fluid was challenged to answer an age old conundrum: “How can we help women feel smashing in their swimwear?” Fluid’s solution is simple: empower women by creating swimwear that accepts her body on her body's own terms. This new platform allows women an opportunity to own a bathing suit that hugs her every curve, flatters her every flaw, and hides her imperfections the best way a swimsuit can – by fitting her perfectly.
My name is Megan Turnbow. I created Fluid to solve a problem 65% of US women face every year; hunting down flattering and well fit swimwear. For the majority of women the annual swimsuit shopping experience feels like a hopeless process, leaving them feeling devoid of self esteem and blaming themselves for not being able to maintain the body they think they need to feel comfortable when wearing a swimsuit. Eventually, most women settle on a swimsuit, but rarely find one that is properly fit, stays in place or isn't uncomfortable, or downright painful, to wear after an hour or two.
Fluid has worked hard over the past year and has uncovered a way to produce custom fit, luxury designer swimwear using the best fabrics, heat treated metal trims, sturdy elastics, perfectly executed patterns and professional construction inside a US factory. Allowing us to provide women with the forbidden fruit of the garment industry - a perfectly fit swimsuit with every purchase.
Fluid intends to create beautifully fit swimwear for women, but more importantly, we want to help women realize it is not their body that causes ready to wear swimwear to be ill fit, it is the way swimwear is produced for the masses. We all know that when you try to be everything to everyone the most likely outcome will be that you will only be something to the few. This is true for ready to wear swimwear; its attempt to fit as many women as possible has only succeeded in fitting the few.
Generally, women view ready to wear garments as being equal across sizes leaving them scratching their heads when they are a size 4 in one line and size 8 in another. The RTW garment sector is not set up to work for every woman's body which is why Made-to-Measure garments are on the rise and quickly gaining traction in the industry.
All it takes is 3 quick, easy steps to obtain such a custom fit, coveted garment: 1. Choose your favorite swimsuit; 2. Measure your body using Fluid's comprehensive and detailed tutorials; 3. Click the purchase button. Within 3 weeks each client will receive a luxurious swimsuit that molds itself to her body, flawlessly.
Fluid offers an array of swim designs inspired by the concept of a woman’s classic beauty using vintage movie sirens as muses. Every piece is a treasure, delivering women a special experience; an opportunity to reveal with confidence. Fluid's swim line was created to flatter the basic shapes of a woman's body. Each suit has been carefully designed so every woman can find a swimsuit in our line to accentuate her body, from needing a high leg, full breast support, complete bottom coverage or deep back scoop, our suits are made for every woman's needs.
Our process is different from our competitors in that we only start creating your swimsuit once it is ordered by you. We do not have stockpiles of swimwear in our studio, nor do we have swimwear based on a size. Our swimwear sizes are our client's first and last names because each client is valued as a unique person at Fluid Sunwear.
I have poured my heart, soul and savings into laying the groundwork for our debut line. I found a top notch designer, Ellis Dixon, and apparel development specialist, Pam Saavedra, to help me develop this line. Together we secured our US factory that is already producing luxury branded swimwear, we sourced trims, cutters, pattern makers, suppliers and developed the process to create each swimsuit individually, yet with margins that allow us to turn a profit.
Joining Team Fluid and contributing to our project will not only give you the chance to be one of the first to own a coveted Fluid swimsuit and piece of our beloved sunwear, but it will also ensure every woman understands that she CAN look, AND FEEL, beautiful beachside, poolside, lakeside or wherever she chooses to wear her swimwear.
We plan to sell out of our sunwear this season, so act now before the pieces you want are gone. But don't worry, we are already working on designs for our second collection and will accept pre-orders when our Classic Beauty line sells out.
We want to thank you for your time and support. We appreciate every pledge, so don't shy away if all you have is a few bucks. Every dollar you donate gets us closer to meeting our goal and if we don't reach our goal, we lose every penny so, EVERY penny counts.
Please share Fluid and our Project with all your friends and family while encouraging them to share with theirs and so on (using the share buttons below our first video). Our secondary goal is to make this project hit viral status - not only will this help reach our financial goal, but will help solidify awareness, which will help make sure every woman understands she can wear a swimsuit that will flatter her body, regardless of her location, height or body shape.
We want every woman to experience what it feels like to reveal with confidence, indulge in style and feel beautiful.
We look forward to keeping you updated on our progress.

Risks and challenges
We know that every project comes with the potential for snags and delays which is why we are working to dot all our i's and cross all our t's. Even then, the best laid plans can be delayed.
Our biggest delays are most likely to come at the factory because we will need to ensure the process of construction is consistent and matches our quality requirements prior to going into production on client orders. This simply means we may need to have an extra sample round or two. In order to combat this possibility we will send me, Megan, to LA. I will be on the factory floor as we finalize production, ensuring every issue is handled immediately, without communication lags and with the exact intention of the original design.
Being on the ground is paramount when it comes to the final stages of production so I can organize, prioritize, delegate, and streamline what needs to be done without delay or the possibility of miscommunication.
This will also ensure the procurement of the trims and fabrics purchased are perfect and will allow for us to make quick decisions if we run up against any delays in sourcing.
Regardless of if we have a set back or find ourselves tangled in a delay, I will persevere and continue to push this project to final completion.
We thrive on feedback and would be happy to hear your thoughts. Please feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions, concerns, thoughts or ideas regarding this project or Fluid. I will respond to any of your question within 24 hours or sooner.
Thank you again!
