"Superhero: The Unofficial Web Series" - a twelve episode, unofficial superhero web series shot in the summer of 2009. The "Trinity" has been developing this web series since 2008! Lead by Steve LaMorte (man of steel/ director/producer), Flor de Oro Tejada (amazonian princess/producer), and Michael Nixon (dark knight detective/screenwriter), this project is dangerously close to completion. Through fund raising, we were able to shoot the whole thing over a four week period entirely in green screen, with 2d hand drawn backgrounds to serve as our sets and stop motion animation to handle our complex effects . The project was donation based and is non profit (since we cannot make profit off of anything copy written by Superman/DC Comics) but we were able to find amazing actors and fellow NYU undergraduate students to work on this for free.

So why did we do it? Because we love Superheroes! And because we believe we are on to something very unique here. Our story focuses on man the man as well as the hero. We look upon his past to find the origins of what made this boy super and the trials the man faces in balancing life as a hero and a human. We have combined live action characters, stunts and action sequences, but are creating a "living comic book" by creating and animated world around them.

We are using traditional 2D animation, computer generated 3D models, miniatures, and puppets to have this story come to life. Our animation team is working feverishly around the clock in order to launch the series in June of 2010. However, we are in need of funds to finish our 3D models and miniatures and raw materials to build our puppets. So we need your help! We've worked very hard to achieve a project that will stand out and reach out to the wide ranged audience of Superhero fans!

If you can help, you can receive a copy of the entire season, autographs from cast and crew, a copy of our script, a photo with the superhero himself, credits in the series and even have the opportunity to be featured in the web series ! Any and all help would be so greatly appreciated by every one of us who has worked very hard to get this thing rolling.

You can help to! Our goal is to raise $3000 to create every frame, every catastrophe, every single effect in our mini epic as it was originally conceived. However, with some creative changes we can finish the project with $1,800 by the end of April and release our series in June. If we go beyond that, then the effects will only get bigger and better...

Up, up, and away!

Thanks,
Steve LaMorte
Director/ Producer

and the entire Superhero web-series team!
