From across the Blasted Sands, the famous Caldera Dome is filled with shouting hordes pouring in to see a clash of epic proportions. From atop your beast, you see your opponent across the dusty arena as the crowd is drowned out by deafening roars and the crash of titanic monsters. Some try to win using brute force, others rely on their wits and speed. How will you crush your opponent to become Champion of the Dome?
Beginning with identical decks, players draw 4 cards each round.
With each card you can Attack, building up your Strength Total, or perform a special Ability, turning the tide of battle in your favor.
Players take turns playing Cards one at a time, choosing Attack or Ability Mode, performing the abilities immediately to turn the tide of battle in their favor. Some abilities let you switch the mode of other cards, allowing you to create clever combinations.
At the end of the round, Attackers are removed and score for the player with the highest Strength Total. You lose access to the unique abilities on these attackers. Ability cards return for the next round.
The battle continues until either player cannot draw 4 cards... the winner is the player with the highest total in their scoring pile.
Carefully choose when to strike -- brute strength may win the round, but cleverness will lead to victory in Dome Crushers.

Often a game project on Kickstarter will have additional content that's added in if the funding reaches higher levels than the initial goal.
What!? Where are all the new content/component stretch goals!? Dome Crushers was designed in a way that the balance of each card's power fits just right in the deck. That makes it difficult for us to add more content in on this project. Fortunately, with your help, we will be able to make a couple nice component quality upgrades... more to come once we meet our funding goal!

We always like to do something special and interactive for backers during a Kickstarter Campaign... Since Jacob Atienza (the illustrator for Dome Crushers) did amazing work building out the visuals for the world, this time, we thought "what if there were more story, too".
Teaming up with my good friend Evan Pedersen (writer for Redshift, a sweet SciFi podcast), he's putting together a story where you, the backers, get to help decide what happens at each step. For each part to the story, we'll have a few options for how it should progress... whichever option receives the most votes will be the path the characters explorer next. The voting window for each segment is short, so be sure to jump on it right away.
At the end, we'll randomly select 1 backer who participated to win a copy of our previous game Sagrada. The more segments you vote on, the better your chances of winning.
Risks and challenges
When it comes to publishing a tabletop game, manufacturing and shipping logistics are easily the biggest challenges. I've had several smooth campaigns, and some rough ones and learned a ton along the way!
We've already started working closely with our manufacturer on this to be sure everything will flow smoothly. As always, there's the chance of production problems, shipping delays, national holidays, and natural disasters -- despite these externalities, I'm prepared to do my best to deliver a great game in a timely manner. On this project we're working with a trusted manufacturer who will help us maintain high control over quality and timeliness.
