Pictures, hang them on the wall, and it will immediately transform any space to become warm, personal and full of life. However, you don’t always get to hang pictures on the wall.
Because you’re renting, your landlord will not tolerate damages to the walls.
Or, it’s hard to put a nail in a concrete wall.
Or, you don’t have the right tools.
Or, you just don't want holes on your new walls (that's me!)
That's why we need your support to bring Flikframe to the market!
With Flikframe, you can stick picture frames on the wall, using the restickable adhesives included (or use Blu-tack, sticky gel pad, removable adhesive...etc). Dress up your workspace, create your gallery wall, exhibit your kids' drawings. It has never been easier - Just position, stick, and flick!
Putting together your Flikframe is quick and simple. Stick the two main body pieces together, sandwich your picture in between the acrylic and picture backing, slip it in place and secure it under the elastic. Fold the sides in, and have the magnets will do the rest.
Inside each set of Flikframe, you will receive everything (but the picture!) you need to hang pictures on the wall.
Hanging Flikframe on the wall is even easier, place adhesive on the four corners of the magnetic wall plate, and press it firmly on the wall where you want the picture to be.
Designing your gallery layout as you go. A little to the left, swap sides from left to right, try different layouts until you're happy with it.
Then, just snap the Flikframe on the wall and you’re done!
You can even change your Flikframe look in less than a minute. We call it a Flikframe Jacket.
Ever thought your picture will look better framed in a different style? You’re probably right.
Flikframe Jacket is the quickest and easiest way to stylize your picture frame, just fold along the crease line, and it's ready-to- wear!
Flikframe jackets are made out of printed pre-cut cards. Fold along the scorch lines, and wrap it onto the frame as per instruction.
Paper is a very versatile medium, it can be printed, embossed, UV spotted, gold foiled or diecut. Our goal to develop more ways to dress up your frame, using these modern printing technologies. Or better yet, to be able to collaborate with artists to create picture + jacket sets!
We chose the recycled boxboard as our main material for Flikframe. Not only is this material sturdy and lightweight, it has minimal impact on our environment.
Rare earth magnets are being used to hold Flikframe together, and secure it onto the wall plate. These magnets are super strong, and often used in toys & packaging.
Acrylic is used instead of glass or PVC. Acrylics are much lighter than glass, unlikely to shatter in case of a fall, and has 92% light transmission (glass windows are 83-90%).
Flikframe resembles the Apple product packaging in many ways. They are sleek, strong, and the satin finish gives it a beautiful subtle sheen.
A 90 degrees V-groove carved on the inside, presents a perfectly sharp 90 degrees edge on the outside. That is why Flikframe look so sleek, because we sweat the small things.
Flikframes are much lighter than the standard MDF picture frames, and comes with more volume. When flattened, Flikframe is only 6mm, and 25mm in depth when fully assembled.
The magnetic wall plate means you get a large contact surface with the wall, making it easier to use any removable adhesives. The restickable adhesive included in Flikframe works perfectly on painted walls, polished timbers, glass and tiles. However for the bumpy surface like brick & concrete, you might wanna try out Blu-tack.
Your pictures will have a elevated display, well exhibited by a thick & solid frame. When you need to move, Flikframe quickly flattens down, so it is easy to transport them to where you're going, and quickly props back up.
There are many exciting things ahead planned for Flikframe!
First, we are aiming to provide more sizes, especially bigger frames, so you can fill up your empty walls faster!
Having a hard time visualizing a good gallery wall layout? We will be developing an online gallery wall designer. Drag-n-drop pictures, rotate frames, change Flikframe Jackets and print out your plans!
Additionally, we would start collaborating with designers and illustrators, to create new Flikframe Jackets - that matches their work. Blank walls are the greatest canvas in a room, and we would love to make it look beautiful!
Like what we're doing at Flikframe? We need your help to make it happen! Flikframe has prepared 3 different sizes for Kickstarter backers, each size comes in black or white, in a satin water-repellent finish.
Flikframe is created by Jolene & Long, a couple of designers enjoying family life in Sydney Australia.
Together, Jolene & Long has been designers for over 2 decades. Their experiences range from graphics design, branding, digital, UI/UX, motion... the list goes on. Now, Long is an Art Director, and Jolene is a mother/designer/cook/cleaner/kids entertainer.
Being designers, we love to feast our eyes on beautiful visuals, and wanted to introduce more of them in our home. That is why we developed Flikframe, we wanted to have the freedom to hang more pictures on our walls.

Risks and challenges
We have been working on Flikframe for more than a year, and Flikframe has grown from a designer's sketch, to a product designed for mass production. During this journey, Jolene has worked with many manufacturers, and narrowed down to one that has a sharp eye for details & excellent communication skills.
One of our challenges was to get Flikframe seen by the market. We will continue to speak through our social media channels, demonstrating Flikframe in action, and collect inspiring pictures on the wall. Like us on Instagram & Facebook, share our link and help us spread the word - it's the approval from you that drives us forward.
We will keep you posted on updates, and intend to be as transparent as possible. We aim to have the rewards delivered by March/April 2018.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
