Understanding Props in The Rocky Horror Show: Touch Me
One of the key aspects of the game that we really haven’t been able to explain yet are the Props. The items on the stage like the Coffin we currently see animate if we tap it during our dance.

The additional stage items are unlocked by play and given out by our audio-vibratory-physio-molecular-Rewards-Generator. Once unlocked they will appear on your stage sets and be the key to unlocking cool extra dance moves. The idea is that as we create our own dances for our friends we may want to add special, Quick-Time dance moves which increase the variety and interest in the game. We call them Quick-Time because of games where players are expected to perform a series of set moves to, say do a finishing move in a combat game. In our case we are asking players to draw specific patterns once the Prop is activated in order to trigger a special dance animation. For example, if you tap on the Coffin in the Hunting Lodge not only will it animate as an object on stage, but it might drawing a spiral for you to follow in order to trigger ‘The Twist’ dance animation. Each prop will have its own associated patterns and dance moves, such as spelling out letters from Rocky to trigger, for example, ‘The Cabbage Patch’ or ‘The Robot’ moves.

However, each prop will only be usable a certain number of times a day when creating a dance – so there is a sense of jeopardy for you to make sure you get your timing right! But, don’t worry when you are trying to copy a friend’s dance – you won’t have to own that prop yourself to be able to enjoy it. You just have to try to get your timing right and try to out-perform them in terms of the timing.
We love the way Props will allow us to ensure that the game experience continues to evolve and make all the dances more interesting to watch and perform. We hope you will too but as none of this extra functionality has been built yet – you’ll get to help us make sure that we make this experience amazing if you back us!
