With help and suggestions from the good people of Reddit (specifically /r/battlestations), we've built a multi-monitor station for your desktop. Designed to hold 3 monitors, shelving, a laptop, desktop pc, headphones, microphone, and whatever else you'd like to add on later! An "L" shape 46" on each side, it fits on many corner desks and is pictured on the affordable Ikea Galant. Here are more photos that show you how the kit mounts all the equipment shown. There are two pledge levels: the monitor frame, which includes the flanges and entire upright frame with two 12-inch arms up top, and several wire-control clips. The "accessory pack" includes two shelves, a laptop-cooling rack, microphone arm, headphone arm, and PC case rack. Please note that the kits don't come with the lights or power strip shown in the pictures - here's a list of those add-ons and where to buy them.
The MultiMod Consoles are commercial-grade kits that you use to build stands and workstations that fit all your needs and equipment. These are the first kits designed with a heavy-duty structural steel framing that is easy to use and affordable for home users. Make your workspace or makerspace truly your own with colorful, smooth vinyl finishes and rubberized, static-proof work surfaces. And if you need more features, you can always add them on later because all the parts in the system are interchangeable.
Since the kits were originally designed for 3D printers shared in makerspaces, we are also creating 3D models of various accessories that fit onto the kits that we’ll share online for free.

What Are They Made From? The Fitz Kits System.
The easiest way to build things, Fitz Kits are all made from a fun and simple framing system of steel poles and joints. The poles are coated with a thick vinyl finish in different colors, and the joints have a chrome or black powder-coated finish. Assembling kits or creating new designs doesn't require special skills, power tools, a workshop, or a lot of time or money. To create a design, just cut the poles to your custom length. To assemble it, just tighten the joints with a hex wrench (included in the kit). You can easily build equipment that is both heavy-duty and has a clean, glossy finish, at a more affordable price than any other metal system.

You Could Call Them "Tinkertoys for Adults".
A serious steel system, that's as fun as a toy. With Fitz parts, anybody can make zillions of things, like desks, playsets for your kids, sports equipment, flea-market booths, shelving - almost anything you dream up, you can build. There are innumerable things to make with Fitz Kits, all easily modified or added to later as your interests or needs change. We have all of the parts in the system listed on our website at fitzkits.com/parts. The store can't process orders yet, but we wanted to show users what will be available.
We initially designed the MultiMod Consoles to hold equipment in makerspaces for local school. A lot of this equipment, like the Printrbot and Makey Makey, was introduced here on Kickstarter. So Kickstarter was a natural fit for us!
At the moment we only have enough parts to build prototypes, but if our Kickstarter is successful we'll be able to order plenty of materials in bulk. Our goal is to interest not only home users, but also to bring our kits to as many school makerspaces as possible.
We're committed to being "open source" and encouraging users to modify our kits. For now we share our designs on various sites like Thingiverse, Shapeways, Pinterest, etc., but eventually we would like to build our own portal for our users to share their designs as well.
Using the MultiMod Stand and Station
In the video above we showed you how the consoles are used in a school makerspace; now here are two ways that I use the stand.
As a mobile printer stand, it's easy to put in my car and set up if I'm showing to people (a ton of people are interested in seeing it when you get a 3D printer), and if you're spending $600 or more on a printer it's nice to have something sturdy to protect and display it. The cords stay attached to the printer, and to set it up you just put the filament spools (stored on the upright poles) on the horizontal poles to dispense them. I also store my masking tape and other tools on the frame. I used two 36" cable ties to hold down the printer and it works great.
Here it is again as a standing desk in my dining room. It's convenient because it takes up just the space you need to type or write so it's easy to store. And it doesn't cost hundreds of dollars, like full-size standing desks.
I actually use the MultiMod Station as a vinyl cutter/plotter station, but I attached a filament-spool holder bar to show how you can just swivel it upwards to change spools. It can easily hold five different spools.
Equipment That Fits on the Consoles
Please double-check specifications of your equipment. The worksurface of the MultiMod Station is 24” x 24”, the Stand is 11" x 20".
Kickstarter-Funded 3D Printers
- Printrbot - All models of Printrbot should be able to fit easily on the Station, the Printrbot Plus might need more clearance for the Stand.
- Buccaneer - (25 x 25cm) - Should fit both consoles.
- Zortrax M200 -14” square base, 17” height - should fit the station very snugly.
- FORM 1 - 12x11x18 inches - should easily fit on both consoles.
- RoBo 3D - 17 x 15 x 17 inches - Should easily fit on station. Too large for stand.
- Openbeam Kossel Pro - equilateral triangle approx. 19 inches/side. Should snugly fit on station. Too large for stand.
- Eventorbot! - Should fit station - not sure of footprint.
- HYREL 3D - Should fit station - not sure of footprint.
- Ultra-Bot - Approx. 12” x 12” x 18” - Should easily fit station, slightly too large for stand.
- DeltaMaker - Footprint is eq. triangle with approx. 14” sides and 18” vertical clearance. Should fit the station but not the stand.

Makerbot - approx. 13 x 19 x 14.5 - The Replicator I and II should fit on the station perfectly, they're too large for the stand.

The Cube - 10 x 10 inch fooprint should fit on both the stand and the station.
Risks and challenges
Although timing our supply chain is probably the most unpredictable variable, we've tried our best to account for extra time, staffing and other challenges that may arise.
And since our manufacturing process is an expanded version of our prototyping process, there aren't that many unknowns in production.
