I Sang My Heart Out To A Snake Once by Fists of Love
Recorded at Cincinnati's Ultrasuede Studio, this collection of 10 original, new songs is our first full-length recording and our first since John Curley joined the band. I Sang My Heart Out To A Snake Once showcases the songwriting and guitar work of Chris Schadler and Donna Rubin backed by the rhythm section of Cedric Rose and John Curley. Produced by Fists of Love, recorded and mixed by John Curley, I Sang My Heart Out To A Snake Once moves through distinct themes: mysticism, summer time, local band lore and love. Reminiscent of The Velvet Underground, Mazzy Star, X and Pink Floyd, elements of pop, jazz and psychedelic rock collide. Fists of Love’s I Sang My Heart Out To A Snake Once is a record you'll want to hear again as soon as it's over.
Risks and challenges
We grew up listening to records. There's something about holding a record in your hands; looking at the cover art while the vinyl spins on the turntable; the way it sounds; the way it smells... You experience a record with all your senses. Naturally, we want to share our music this way, too. We're lucky to have access to a studio. We were able to take our time writing and recording these songs. The tech revolution has made it a lot easier to record and release our music digitally but there's still something really special and cool about making record.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
