Information overload is getting worse by the second! Can you still keep up with all the things happening on Facebook? Yes? Well, well done to you!
Now throw Twitter in the mix. Can you still keep up with it all? Still? Well look at you go!
Alright, add LinkedIn, YouTube, Pinterest, Wordpress, Tumblr, Vimeo, MySpace, Tagged, Bebo, Eventbrite... shall I go on? Can you still keep up?
At some point we all run out of steam trying to keep up with all the buzz. You might begin to wonder, how can sitting at your PC be so physically draining. When did it become so daunting?
Information overload is nothing new and there have been attempts at reducing it as much as possible but we're still not there yet. Fillta's aim is to provide the next step towards a solution that can both grow with and handle the alarming rate of information we are having to consume.
We've been working on Fillta for several months now. We've got algorithms for some filtering going. We've got support for Facebook, Twitter and Email as data sources and we recently did a very closed Alpha 1 test with plans for the next Alpha 2 test in June.
The Kickstarter project is about helping us deliver a public Beta of Fillta. Since 2012 we've worked on it part-time and survived on our savings, freelancing etc... whatever we could basically. With YOUR help we would like for the 3 of us to dedicate all of our attention full-time to working on Fillta day-in, day-out and accelerate development to produce a public beta within the next 6 months, with several Alpha versions in between.
Open source friendly
We're totally behind open source and as we develop our libraries we will publish them through GitHub under liberal licenses such as Apache 2. In fact, we've already started doing this, our Higgs.IO library is already open and as we develop more we'll be releasing them.
We're making use of Apache Cassandra for storage with plans to include Hadoop in the near future for some of our machine learning algorithms. We're also looking to open source the machine learning library as soon as we have it polished enough for the public's eyes.
Who we are and Fillta in our own words
