Clubhouse Defense Squad (Canceled)
A 1-6 player cooperative, deck building, tower defense and strategy game where you defend your clubhouse from treacherous monsters!
Sick of “adulting”? Tired of the monotony of the daily grind? Want a way to somehow recapture the fighting spirit of your youth? Well then have we have got the game for you!
Clubhouse Defense Squad is a 1-6 player cooperative game where you play kids who channel their favorite cartoon heroes and go up against the greatest evil that they can imagine. All in the name of protecting each other and their beloved clubhouse.
From lava monsters to cybernetic bears to mole people these kids have to defeat them all and they better do it before the bad guys destroy the clubhouse or before their parents call them home for dinner!
Clubhouse Defense Squad is a deck building, tower defense and strategy game all mashed up into one, providing a little something for every tabletop enthusiast!
The base game stars 6 heroic defenders, each with their own specialized starting deck and buy deck. These cards are designed to strengthen the defender and aid them on their quest to vanquish the onslaught of evil.
After each defender’s turn, the bad guys get to go. They attack with reckless abandon, and advance when they can. The destruction of the clubhouse is their main objective and they will not let any gate or defender stand in their way! Defenders must destroy every bad guy to win the game!
Do you want to save the clubhouse? Do you hate bad guys? Well, you can help our Defenders by backing Clubhouse Defense Squad, and making this project a reality!
There are some common cards between the Defenders, but each one in the base game can essentially be thought of as a character class. Lightning is the heavy, he doesn’t move well, but he bashes skulls. Dextra can hit too, but she is more of a support character as her Fix Kit 3000 helps to keep the Clubhouse standing.
...That Work Well Together
Just see what happens when Starlight, equipped with Dragon Stars, hops into Agent 28's Aspin Marvin!
Randomization and Replayability
In the box we will include more Gate cards and more Bad Guys than you need in any given game. You will randomly draw them each time you play helping to ensure you never play the same game twice.
Fighting Two Fights
In Clubhouse Defense Squad, you aren’t just battling Bad Guys. You also have to make sure the dinner bell never rings. The Dusk Clock isn’t a round based system, some Bad Guys push it down on their turns and Defenders push it back up on theirs.
How To Play
Choose your Defender. Set up your Starting hand of cards you can play and Arsenal and Equipment cards you can buy.
Place randomized Gates in each of the 8 areas surrounding the Clubhouse as the first line of defense. These each also have a different game changing effect.
Place 6 Bad Guys around the outside of the board, letting the D8 decide the fate of which Gate they will be attacking.
Collect your allowance, buy new Arsenal or Equipment cards and then dive into the fight. Each player has their own number of Actions per turn. Your hand allows you to add damage to attacks, gain extra actions and much more.
When your turn ends, the Bad Guys assault begins. Roll the D8 once and then go around the board resolving their randomized attacks. Once a Gate falls, the Bad Guys move in and start attacking the Clubhouse.
How to win:
Vanquish all Bad Guys in the draw pile!
How to lose:
- The Clubhouse is destroyed!
- All defenders are kidnapped!
- The Dusk Clock reaches 6 pm and the kids are called home dinner!

Risks and challenges
We want to sound 100% confident, especially since our first game (Red Scare Redux) is in actual stores now! Yet our sophomore game is a much larger undertaking. The actual board shape alone has kept us up at night. From terminology to difficulty level we have had to meticulously comb through every aspect of this game, so we can bring you something that you would be happy to have in your game collection.
We learned a great deal from our first Kickstarter. Our biggest obstacle then was time estimates. We underestimated how long it would take to finalize, print and ship our game. Because of that we were 3 months behind our delivery goal. We will use our past experience to present a more accurate timeline for our backers. Keeping this in mind, we accelerated our art schedule in hopes of delivering Clubhouse Defense Squad to you quicker! That being said, the making of Red Scare Redux seems almost simple now compared to the complexities of board game creation.
There is always a chance that things go sideways. Magmana intercepting our supply line, or Dr. Nogudnik kidnapping our artist could throw a wrench in our plans. But we will do our utmost to produce a fun, functional game with amazing art delivered to you on time!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
