Shakespeare's beloved comedy Much Ado About Nothing presented by the acting collaborative Fiasco Productions.
Two young lovers, Claudio and Hero, are to be married imminently but the devious scheming of a resentful Prince looks as though it will thwart the nuptials. Meanwhile, marriage seems inconceivable for reluctant lovers Beatrice and Benedick whose endless witty sparring threatens to keep them apart forever.
Presented under the auspices of the Actors' Equity Association Members' Project Code, Much Ado About Nothing is one of Shakespeare’s great plays and reminds us all of the failings and triumphs of the human condition in our never ending search for love.
Fiasco Productions is committed to bringing Shakespeare to the public through FREE outdoor performances! We celebrate the acting ensemble through performances in natural settings with the sponsorship of the City of Cambridge and the Cambridge Arts Council.
Whether you participate in our campaign or not, we would love to see you at one of our shows! So grab your blankets, lawn chairs and picnic baskets and mark us on your calendar:

Any theater production has costs but we have managed to cleverly limit some of the biggest expenses in theater without sacrificing any quality. We have done this by enlisting the help of the Cambridge Arts Council who were able to secure for us three of the most beautiful natural stages one could hope for in their public parks!
Our Equity-based acting collaborative will use their strong acting skills and the natural beauty of Cambridge's parks to bring Shakespeare's work to life. In this way we have eliminated the need for costly venue rentals, play rights, and a lot of fussy props.
With our planning and the help of the CAC we were able to seriously limit the costs associated with our production. And that's where you come in! You can help us cover the costs of insurance, costumes, props (we need a few ok!?), lighting, sound, rehearsal space and director and stage manager fees.
In this way we can make possible a production that the entire Cambridge community can enjoy for FREE!
Risks and challenges
Every production faces challenges and indeed staging an outdoor production invites many! We cannot control the weather and anticipate that it could produce some challenges, both for our rehearsals, which will be outdoors, as well as for our performances. Because of the limited availability of the parks and of our large cast we are not able to build rain dates into the performance schedule. That being said, we have scheduled MULTIPLE performances in each park to limit the likelihood of a total loss. We also feel that the strong relationship that we have established with the Cambridge Arts Council would allow us some wiggle room (permit-wise) if we did need to try to reschedule something.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
