I'm an entrepreneur. I've done a bunch of startups. And I realized that even though 9 out of 10 startups fail - ALL of them have awesome stories that would make for great entertainment. But no one has made an awesome series about The Valley!
That's right - there’s never been a fictional series about Silicon Valley that’s smart enough, funny enough, visionary enough, or ballsy enough to attract a wide audience. This is it: "Entourage" meets "The Office," in Silicon Valley. A hip, dramatic comedy that will explore the intricacies of lovable, despicable, and insane characters in the Valley and do it right. The series will feature cameos by real Valley founders, hackers and the hottest new tech start-ups, and base its fictional plots around real stories from the community.
The Valley follows the lives of three friends as they chase their dreams of changing the world and becoming the next hot IPO in Silicon Valley. The volatile and sometimes absurd world of technology start-ups, high-stakes venture capital, and adrenaline fueled innovation serves as the backdrop for their misadventures, giving the audience a much deeper glimpse into the realities of the Valley and how it changes people. Set in the San Francisco Bay Area, The Valley’s characters are inspired from the unique, offbeat and stranger-than-fiction real-life people from the world over who gravitate towards this mecca of technology: geeks and nerds, extroverts and narcissists, trail blazers and ladder climbers.
We’ll follow the struggles of our main character, Noel, the genius but socially awkward hacker with a secret past and a Robin Hood complex as he chases his dream of founding a new tech start-up with his misfit college friends, Joel and Evita. Despite his cynicism, Noel wants to save the world.
Joel is the slick Harvard MBA whose addiction to speed, in all its forms, could blow up everything they’ve been working for. Despite his slick exterior, Joel can sometimes...sometimes...do the right thing. But most of the time he's just too busy being a pirate.
Evita is the street-smart, smoking-hot hipster who can’t decide whether to try to make the world a better place or get a new tattoo. Noel and Joel had competing crushes on Evita, but she’s determined never to date in the industry again. Also, best friends have to stick together...right?
Mix in egomaniacal billionaires, scheming get-rich-quick artists, double crossing bloggers and you have the ingredients for a block-buster series!The Budget:
We want to do something with high production value and a lot of the costs are up front - writing, casting, props and sets. The good news is we can re-use all of that stuff for more episodes, so our per-episode cost will go down the more we raise, letting us do more episodes for less!
