Femme Beat is about breaking bread and sparking a connection within ourselves and with like-minded women. It's a social dinner series with speakers who share topics that inspire and challenge us to grow and go after what we really want while building strong, effective networks.
We believe taking ownership of our lives is a life-long practice and sometimes we need a little encouragement and help to design a life that gets us stoked. Change can feel scary so we've curated a unique dining experience that'll help facilitate the idea of igniting passion, reconnecting with core desires and goal setting with a tribe of like-minded women. Join a Femme Beat dinner to discover more about yourself and how to make your craziest and wildest dreams a reality.
Knowledge is power and we believe speakers can help us go deeper by sharing their own story and wisdom. Femme Beat speakers are bloggers, designers, coaches, social leaders, business owners, and producers who lead whole-hearted lives. Many have been through one hell of a roller-coaster ride and have fought their way back to the top by choosing to succeed as much as they want to breathe. Femme Beat speakers desire to make the impossible possible and the ordinary extraordinary. Sample topics of discussion include:
- Goals with soul
- Defining success on your own terms
- Listening to your soul's intuition
- Making new mind grooves that steer your life
- Be your own Guru
- Sexuality and spirituality
- Self-talk and how to deal with criticism
Speakers share soulful personal stories and important business lessons they have learned along the way to give our guests valuable insight; whether she's a budding entrepreneur, corporate ladder-climber dreaming of creating her own gig, or social game changer looking to make a positive change in the world and herself.
Femme Beat's speakers help you dig deep, stay on purpose, back yourself, and be true to your ideas and desires.
The funds received from this campaign will be dedicated to event set-up and marketing to help establish a following. Sponsors and event ticket prices will cover these costs once we grow, but we need a little help in the beginning.
Our needs include tables, chairs, plates, utensils, centerpieces, and event space rentals, as well as catering and beverages. In order to expand our network and spread awareness, we'll be capturing each dinner experience with the help of a photographer and videographer for beautiful, cinematic video images and reels to be shared on several social platforms.
We are passionately committed to empowering women everywhere. This project is truly a labor of love. Our first dinner event is scheduled for November 3, 2015 with a confirmed guest speaker.
Our goal is to launch Femme Beat locally in the Phoenix, Arizona area, but our dream is to take these dinners nationwide to motivate women everywhere. If we knock out $10,000 in 30 days, we'll be forging a heartfelt business with a mission (and leading by example of diving right into our own dreams) of helping women find their spark and fuel their dreams. Our backers mean the world to us and we'll be showing our appreciation in many ways:
For $10, you'll get an awesome backer badge posted on your Facebook or Twitter with a virtual hug that'll make your friends super jelly!
Each dinner is a new experience with just a few things consistent: inspiring speakers and great company. Our guests are paying for much more than a meal.
Risks and challenges
Every project has potential obstacles. The Femme Beat team has a wide range of experience in marketing and managing start-ups to help overcome possible delays in launching. The unique challenges that Femme Beat face are:
1) Introducing a new service to the market and building an audience base for this new kind of local and collaborative experience.
We've done the necessary market research and have held informative focus groups on our concept. People desire more opportunities to connect face to face with one another and we believe it's a bonus if you can learn something too. We are confident in our implementation strategy and are ready to build our community.
2) Acquiring regular sponsors and in-kind donations for caterers, venues, and decor for every event may be challenging at first, due to our intimate dinner groups of 12 women per event; however, this challenge may be better addressed as we grow and acquire more customers.
Dinner tickets are priced at $65 per person, which provides a two-fold solution to stay affordable for our guests for consistent ticket sales and reduce the costs of event set-up and marketing. Our target is to increase the frequency of these dinners to 1 to 2 times a week within the first six months.
3) Public speaking is an art in itself, so it's important that we find speakers who can comfortably engage with our guests in a clear, concise and compassionate way. We'll continue to acquire speakers through our wide network, but once our mission spreads, we are confident we'll receive requests from women who want to share their stories and we'll offer a platform to do so.
Femme Beat believes we can do more together. We create because it's possible, not because it's profitable. We're working on building a business that'll help women (ourselves included) by putting something simple as a meal in the center of our offering and creating a unique and inspiring space for storytelling and sharing.
SPECIAL THANKS for taking the time to learn more.
