Silence is not golden... if you have problems getting stuff ready, tell us. I'd understand probably.

If your having trouble delivering on the original requirement via a website it would be wise to offer an alternate means of either accepting a design or producing a scarf in a single color if desired.

You might also consider unveiling a draft of your website.

Hi any chance of an update ? I thought I would get my scarf for the end of march.

    4. Fabienne "fbz" Serriere Creator on March 10

Ryan Bird: We haven't started production yet, and the website is almost ready for you to pick out your scarf. We'll keep all the backers posted! Thanks!

How's it coming along? Any new news?

    9. flip phillips on January 30

"Most items will probably be on track to be produced and shipped by the end of March 2017" I'm beginning to feel like this isn't going to happen. Comments?

    10. Fabienne "fbz" Serriere Creator on December 14

Aussie Jess: I am still building the website for you to pick out the pattern.

Sorry I saw the colour options but don't we have pattern choices as well??
That's what I'm referring to. What are our pattern choices?
Sorry. I was tired yesterday and didn't communicate properly.

    12. Fabienne "fbz" Serriere Creator on December 13

Aussie Jess: I sent out a second update today with pictures of the color options (there are only three options: Black and White, Purple and Black, or Purple and White). Thanks!

    13. Aussie Jess
      on December 13

Before we fill out our survey can you please do a post showing all the colour way options and their names???

As I'm confused about what my choices are

      Kind Regards,

    14. Fabienne "fbz" Serriere Creator on December 13

Hi all, I send out two updates today, one for everyone with updates, one with colors to chose from for the backers at the scarf level and above. Thanks!

Second the call for pictures. I note a color-shifted picture of the black and white version, a model wearing the black and purple, but no exemplar of purple-and-white?

    16. Mitch Altman on December 13

      Congrats on all the progress!

Dang, you tease us with Mandelbrots and then say no :-(

As for the survey: it's been sooooooo long, how about a pic of each color scarf?

    18. Tom Campbell on December 12

I would love an update please.

    19. Brendan O'Connor on December 5

Since it has been two months since the last update, could we get another?

I was really really hoping this would come by Christmas, waiting so long. How will I know if it is coming in time? and yes I agree with the other comments, my mathematician husband would LOVE the Mandelbrot design...

    21. flip phillips on November 18

So this is looking like it will be pushed back to after the holidays despite the previous messages?

    22. Fabienne "fbz" Serriere Creator on November 2

@Michael Toecker: I am working on software. Would you like to come visit my office and see the machine in action? I have office hours on Thursdays at 2pm by appointment and on the second Saturday of each month. Just email me at fabienne at fabienne dot us to schedule a visit. I updated the new schedule (aiming to ship before the holidays) in the last two updates which you can read. Thanks for your support!

Hi, could you please post a schedule of the major items you are working on to get orders fulfilled? Seems like the date has slipped into the 6 months late range, and I'd like to know what the new plan is.

    24. Fabienne "fbz" Serriere Creator on October 7

Hi all, I have posted another Kickstarter update just now. Thank you for your continued support. As always, please feel free to come by the office if you are in Seattle to see the machine in action. Visits by appointment please, simply email me at fabienne at fabienne dot us.

Yeah like Ed I'm also a software developer, if you ever get stuck on building the site we're more than happy to help out, even if it's just brain storming on how to approach a certain logic or better strategies to streamline your development. Let us know about the process.

Get the software right before shipping. Moans about lack of visible progress are as nothing to complaints about dodgy software.

I have a long IT background, if you need help with testing or just to bounce ideas off, message me.

@Aussie Jess: Things are going well! I am hoping to get an update out tomorrow. The machine arrived two weeks ago, and it is working. I am knitting test knits on it at the moment and coding software to be able to script it. The scarves are still on track for June!

      @creator any news?

    37. Fabienne "fbz" Serriere Creator on July 27, 2015

@Heather Shaw: In my example code, the edge cells are turned off. It is a little confusing because in my description of elementary cellular automata I talk about black being on and white being off, but in my code the colors are swapped (black is off and white is on).

    39. The force
      on July 23, 2015

Heather, In reading the code, it looks like the edge cell is on (black) by default. The cell next to the edge cell can be on (black) or off (white) depending on the cell to its right or left, depending on the side you are looking at.

Congrats on funding. Now the fun begins!!

    41. Heather Shaw on July 23, 2015

Random question: At the edges, is the third (missing) cell considered to be on (1/Black) or off (0/White)? Obviously there are only two cell to do the derivation

This is so cool. I'm so glad I finally got around to listening to the Brakeing Down Security podcast in time to get in on this project. Love the idea.

    44. Fabienne "fbz" Serriere Creator on July 23, 2015

@Lam Sai Tat: The wrap shown isn't one of the elementary cellular automata. It's a seashell algorithm, specifically Cymbiola Vespertilio, from the book The Algorithmic Beauty of Seashells. The book comes with a CD with the code on it. As noted in the campaign, the wraps will not have that algo for the first run, but will be made from the elementary cellular automata. Thanks for your support!

    45. Lam Sai Tat on July 23, 2015

Hi @fbz, just wondering what is the rule for the shown wrap? i quite like that one and would like to play around with ur code to see if i can generate a similar pattern for mine based on it. And most of all congratulations on successfully funding, I especially like your approach to express the funding goes to sourcing the industrial knitting machine and attending the training to kick of the business/project rather than purely trying to sell a product. Good work and you deserve the success. :)
