Have a question?
Hi Matt: In your survey I have purple and black requested for you. Is this correct?
There is no way for me to change the survey text in Kickstarter. Once it's locked in, it's locked in.
Bit concerned as my shipping request states the scarf is Black and White where as I had requested the alternative Purple - anyone else have this issue?
FYI, recent "Last chance to confirm your shipping address" email claims
Estimated delivery:Jun 2016
when Shipping to New Zealand!
As I mentioned in the last update a few days ago, I am currently shipping the two scarf backer level. Closer to shipping the one scarf backer level, I will send out a reminder to enter or update your address. In the last update (and quite a few before that) I outlined the steps to changing your address. When your scarf does ship, you will know, as you will get a tracking email from me that is sent from my shipping software. Please check out the last update: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/fbz/knityak-custom-mathematical-knit-scarves/posts/1939978
Hi - don't know whether my scarf has shipped yet. Can't wait! I'm just about to move house and my delivery address is changing. Will there be an opportunity to update this? Thanks! Matt
Hi Brian, Yes I'll be sending out an update today :) Also follow along on twitter for more up to date pictures, videos and information: https://twitter.com/knityak
Is there anything new to update? A general where you are with production/shipping kind of thing?
Got a surprise today. My beautiful, soft, and wonderful looking scarf arrived today. Thanks.
I got my wrap yesterday and it is spectacular! The wait was absolutely worth it!
Hi all, thanks for the words of encouragement!
Can't wait to see how it all turns out, but not worried about the delay at all.
Hope you're having fun! Love the math art.
Glad you finally got into production run. I am sure you found this to be many times harder than you expected, but thanks for sticking to it. You now need a marketing plan beyond Kickstarter friends.
Go Fabienne!!! Really excited for this project and can't wait to sport my new fashion accessory!!!
Thanks! Crunching away!
So glad to hear that production has started! Looking forward to receiving mine. Keep going, you're almost done!
Hi Aussie Jess,
Production has started! Check out the update I just sent, and follow along on twitter here: https://twitter.com/knityak or here: https://twitter.com/fbz
Hi FBZ, how's everything going? Have you shipped any yet??
Matt Nixon: Please read the latest update. Thanks for your support!
Disappointed that we are STILL waiting here as I was expecting this to arrive before LAST winter - could you please crack on and complete this.
Shame about the website but best to move on and actually ship.
Please, please, PLEASE can we have mandelbrot scarves? PLEASE?
Thank you for the update FBZ! Looking forward to the scarf. I don't care one iota about picking the design. It will be a gift for my wife and I will enjoy explaining the idea behind it. And it will hopefully serve as an ongoing conversation starter.
Thank you all for your support regarding the latest update. I really appreciate it. Can't wait to get you all your mathy knitwear!
Hi FBZ! Thank you for the update. I think you made the correct decision to abandon the website and make up the rewards without it. I'm sure you're gutted to have to do this but it's better to clear the obligations sooner rather than later. You'll feel free to get on with new designs and may even be able to get a fresh view on how to make the website work once you're free of this burden.
Personally, I've always viewed Kickstarter and other crowdfunding platforms as a way of helping people to do interesting things that they wouldn't otherwise be able to do. Getting something tangible back tempts me to give more to the projects I back but I'm well aware it this is not a straightforward online shop. Timescales have stretched, usually because of technical stuff, but I've never been let down yet. I'm glad you've taken this decision so you should avoid being the first. Looking forward to getting my scarf in due course.
Likewise, I'm not fussed about the delays! Backing this project was still great fun and it's a cool idea.
Thank you for the update! I am personally really excited for this product and don't mind the delays - I know projects can have tough twists and turns as they evolve. I just wanted to mention that because not all 794 backers feel the same way as expressed in a previous comment here...
I *was* wondering what was up. Shit does happen, and this is Kickstarter, not Etsy. So long as I receive a cool scarf, I can be philosophical.
Hi all, I am putting together an update on the project today. I am sorry but there is no way to refund as this campaign was run as bare break even: the cost of the machine, the yarn, and the cost of shipping materials were covered and that's it. The money was spent on those materials the year this was funded. Thanks for your understanding, and I hope to speak with many of you soon. The update will be out later today, Tuesday April 18th, 2017. Thank you for your continued support.
Hello Fabienne. I sure would like to see your project come to fruition.
I imagine you are sick to death that the schedule has not worked out as you had hoped. The fact that you are not responding to recent comments and that you are not updating status on a weekly basis (at this point) leads me to guess that the website you are building is still no where close to complete ... or that some other issue has come up and delivery is still no where in site.
If delivery really is close, I suggest that you let the backers know and commit to updating on a very regular basis until shipping. If it is just not working out, you might consider declaring the project defunct and moving on. It is not the end of the world. If I were in your shoes I would be eaten up and if it is just not going to happen, you might as well relieve yourself of that torment, refund the backers, and try something new.
Again, I hope to get my scarf. However, my suggestion is to end the project one way or another very soon.
I'm in the refund camp at this point too please.
Hello. I'd like a refund. Please let me know how to make that happen.
My sister lives in Seattle and is coming to see me in July. Can she pick mine up and bring it with her? (Two years after pledged)
Need an update badly starting to think I'll never see this.
FAQ: "If problems come up, creators are expected to post a project update explaining the situation."
6+ months "working" on a website to pick a pattern, and nearing the 2 year mark since launching. Vague updates and no evidence of working toward it on Twitter.
Just show me some patterns and let me pick one in a survey form. This doesn't need to be complicated. I don't need a guaranteed universally unique scarf. I just want what I paid for. I'm sure 794 other people feel the same way.
795 backers, @fbz.
"update coming out later today" - longest day -ever-.
Silence is not golden... if you have problems getting stuff ready, tell us. I'd understand probably.
If your having trouble delivering on the original requirement via a website it would be wise to offer an alternate means of either accepting a design or producing a scarf in a single color if desired.
You might also consider unveiling a draft of your website.
Hi any chance of an update ? I thought I would get my scarf for the end of march.
Ryan Bird: We haven't started production yet, and the website is almost ready for you to pick out your scarf. We'll keep all the backers posted! Thanks!
Hi all, update coming out later today. Thanks for your support!
I never received item
Can we get some sort of update please?
How's it coming along? Any new news?
"Most items will probably be on track to be produced and shipped by the end of March 2017" I'm beginning to feel like this isn't going to happen. Comments?
Aussie Jess: I am still building the website for you to pick out the pattern.
Sorry I saw the colour options but don't we have pattern choices as well??
That's what I'm referring to. What are our pattern choices?
Sorry. I was tired yesterday and didn't communicate properly.
Aussie Jess: I sent out a second update today with pictures of the color options (there are only three options: Black and White, Purple and Black, or Purple and White). Thanks!
Before we fill out our survey can you please do a post showing all the colour way options and their names???
As I'm confused about what my choices are
Hi all, I send out two updates today, one for everyone with updates, one with colors to chose from for the backers at the scarf level and above. Thanks!
Second the call for pictures. I note a color-shifted picture of the black and white version, a model wearing the black and purple, but no exemplar of purple-and-white?
