Fargoal 2: We could not be more happy (and relieved) to post this update!
Dear Fargoal Fans & Supporters:
We are very pleased to be able to announce that we have *finally* been able to find the Developer resource we've been seeking! After a long search, and two or three close-to-completed arrangements with other Developers*, we found what we believe is the perfect match for Sword of Fargoal 2 in order to help us complete the game.
Meet our new developer, Anthony Salter
Please meet Antony Salter, an experienced developer who also happens to be a great fan of "Roguelikes," and who has developed a couple of his own! Anthony will be seeing Fargoal 2 through to its conclusion with a 1.0 release to iOS, PC/Mac/Linux. We will begin work almost immediately together, and will quickly begin to be able to show active results.
Anthony has his own Indie Dev company, Viridian Games, and has created and/or worked on several games you can explore at his site. You can check out Anthony's own "Roguelike" adventure called Inaria among others. Try his live demo!

Our goal is also to 'wake up' the official Fargoal Forums, as well as posting progress updates here on Kickstarter as well. We will also be much more active on our official Facebook page and on Twitter, so please Like and Follow us to interact in that way.
When will Fargoal 2 finally be out?
To be completely honest, we still don't know for sure. We don't have a specific release date that we can announce, but we can say that our goals are aggressive, and we hope to bring the game to you this year for sure in a 1.0 form, and in as few months as possible. We view this as a fresh start; an opportunity to introduce fresh creativity and technical talent that will bring Fargoal 2 to fruition.
We really feel encouraged by this fortunate turn of events, and we feel like Fargoal 2 will will finally begin clicking along at a much better pace. Please be patient as Anthony gets up to speed on the code. He has already taken a close look at it and knows his way around much of the coding techniques and routines.
I know we may have lost the trust of some of our supporters. We hope to do our very best to regain that trust over the coming weeks as you begin to see Fargoal 2 take shape much more rapidly.
Fargoal 1 (on iOS) to be FREE for three days!
As our sincere "thanks" for your patience, on Monday, May 5, 2014 we will be making Sword of Fargoal (version 1) FREE for three days on iOS. Though we know this won't reach all of our supporters, we hope this is a benefit to some of you. Plus, you can tell your friends with iPhones and iPads about our game! If you decide to download Sword of Fargoal on the iTunes App Store please also join @fargoal on Twitter and tell people about the FREE download days. Also Like us on Facebook and comment once you've had a chance to play.
Please be patient with us about Fargoal 1 for PC/Mac/Linux. Presently Sword of Fargoal Legends is available on the Mac through Chillingo/EA, but not yet on PC and Linux. Though they are planned, we will be putting our best efforts toward getting Fargoal 2 completed. But please know that you too will have access to Fargoal 1 once it is ready.

Creating Fargoal 2 has been a monumental effort. What we've found is that, because the 'world of Fargoal' is so open ended, and because there are so many naturalistic behaviors and elements to the game; randomly-generated dungeons, monster behaviors, duel-stage traps, treasures, etc., it has proven extremely difficult to find the right development support that we've needed. With Anthony joining the team we feel we are finally there, and we are excited about being able to follow through with the quality and content that we know the game deserves.
This is a happy day for me personally to be able to enter this new stage. We know that it doesn't make up for our being late, but what we do know is that we will be able to deliver the quality, depth, and game-play fun that fans & supporters have come to appreciate about Sword of Fargoal as a whole.
