10 days, 10 friends — We Need Your Help
Dear Fargoal Fans & Supporters:
We want Sword of Fargoal 2 to become a reality and get completed, quickly, with all of the great stuff we have planned for it! Right now — with T-minus 11 days and counting — we are trying to think outside the box, taking a grass roots approach, and suggesting/requesting/begging for you to help us with: “10 days, 10 friends” in order to get the word out!
We’re coming up on the last 10 days of our Kickstarter campaign and we still have a long way to go. So we need your help. Over the next 10 days, please tell 10 friends about the Sword of Fargoal 2 Kickstarter campaign. If everyone does this, we’ll have over 6,000 new people visiting our Kickstarter page, and even if only 2/10 of those people support our campaign, then we’ve made it!
Please start by tweeting about it right now:
Your tweet will look like this (allows edits before posting):
- I'm supporting Sword of Fargoal 2 on Kickstarter!! Check it out and help make it happen! http://far.gl/sof-ks (Please RT!)
Share the same link (above) on Facebook, send an email, summon a messenger demon — whatever it takes.
Not to paint a dark picture, but we are getting a little worried at our current pace. However, we *can* still make it! As I’ve mentioned before there have been other Kickstarter campaigns who’ve pulled it off in a major surge near the end. Fargoal 2 could be one of those, with your help.
We also wanted to share a great podcast in this update from our Friend-of-Fargoal, Matt Barton from Armchair Arcade. You saw his Matt Chat #40 about Sword of Fargoal in an early update (scroll down). This weekend Matt recorded another voice podcast with me that you can listen to right here.
Matt has been one of the earliest internet-age reviewers of Sword of Fargoal that we know of, having written about the original C64 Sword of Fargoal back in 2006.
PS: What happens if the project doesn’t get funded? Well, we love Fargoal too much to abandon it, but it will be much harder for us to accomplish all that we have planned for the game. Realistically, Sword of Fargoal 2 probably won't be released until the spring of 2014 — possibly later. I talk more about if that were to happen in today’s interview on GameZebo.com.
As an added treat, here is a clip that writer Eli Cymet discovered and shared with you in his article that appeared today.
