For ages 4+ | The Moon is Following Me is about a cautious little boy who’s desperately trying to convince his family that the moon is following him each night. Known to be a bit worrisome and over-imaginative, each family member laughs and dismisses his humorous theories as typical make-believe. The catch? He may be right.
As a picture book author and illustrator, my hope is to bring families together though timeless stories that create smiles and—sometimes—laughter. It’s in these stories that I hope to awaken the child within adults though a nostalgic point-of-view and gain the trust of young readers who simply want to be entertained.
If you take a look at the rewards, you'll see that I’ve kept them very simple. By avoiding non-book related rewards, I can focus on delivering an entertaining and unquestionably well-made book on time. However, all hardcover pledges will get a personalize autograph with a fun illustration on the inside along with a Kickstarter exclusive thank you card.
The Book - Details
Aside from writing the story and getting it edited (which is done), I have to complete the illustrations and design the final layout for hardcover print and digital. Once completed, I send the final specs to the printer. I am very meticulous when it comes to how a book feels and communicates to you in your hands, so this stage will take the most time.

I do have a few ideas in mind, such as a The Moon is Following Me coloring book, interactive book app and animated short; however, I'd like to focus on getting the project funded and being able to fulfill my initial promise to you. Once we reach that milestone, I'll circle back to this section with more very exciting news.
I decided to place this project on Kickstarter because it’s the quickest way to put the book in your hands and get your feedback on the illustrations and design before print.
If you enjoy silly stories and once (or still—I’m not judging) thought the moon was following you, please back this project!

Risks and challenges
The common challenges in self-publishing hardcover picture books are reprints from editing or printing mistakes and the fluctuation of costs on print, production, storage, and shipping. Because “The Moon is Following Me” is my fifth title, I have built solid relationships with all parties needed to produce and deliver an amazing book with very little to no challenges.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
