I got my stickers and they are awesome!
@Fanny Cool. Thanks for the mini update! :)
@whatdapufferfish, Thanks for keeping track of this campaign's process! :) The fund just sent to me on yesterday, and Kickstarter mentions it may take a few days to complete the process. I apologize for the long wait! >_<
@Benjamin, no problem, I understand there are lots of information in this campaign. ^^
The poster's digital file is ~6000x9000 pixels. You can definitely print smaller sized posters and up to size 24x36 inch. I highly recommend 24x36 because the fonts can be clearly read when printed in bigger prints.
Apologize if someone asked this before or you have mentioned it before.
What is the size(pixel) of digital version for this poster and previous posters? Can I print it with smaller size of poster?
@Michael, thank you for your support!! I am glad you enjoy my designs! ^^
Congratulations! The poster is awesome!
@Sunny, Wow! Thanks for returning and supporting my new campaign!! And yes, shipping was very expensive already back then, and today shipping fee is still increasing. It's sad to see how this problem discourages a lot of people from getting the poster, but I am glad you came back this time! ^^ I hope you can enjoy the design very soon in your future kitchen!!
For snack poster, you can always get the digital version at my online shop: http://jfoodie.tictail.com/
*Kickstarter add-on price right now is a lot cheaper!
@Y. Penders, thanks for your comment! I totally understand the high shipping cost. I am so glad the digital version works out for you! And very true!! Japanese food is not always about sushi, there are much muchhhh more delicious Japanese dishes to try and discover! ^0^
After stalking about for a few days I finally gave in and bought the poster. I remember seeing your ramen poster project back in 2015, but the shipping was simply too much for me, as a person living in the EU.
That being said I absolutely ADORE this design and I'm sure it'll look great in my future kitchen! And this time, not even the shipping fee shall stop me ;)
I would have loved to get the Snack poster with Maple background (the big one) as well, but I'm afraid the Danish print companies demands a high sum for printing posters, so that one will have to wait a bit longer.
As a European, I am extremely unlikely to back America-based projects due to the high shipping costs. So, the digital version is a total win for me! Would have bought all the add-ons if it wasn't for the fact I have nowhere to hang them :) Love Japanese food and am forever telling people that it's not just sushi!
@Lawrence, I am glad too! It seems like many backers love your suggestion too! Thanks!
@NARUGAMI Thank you for supporting my project again! ^^ So far, the digital version is receiving lots of position feedback! I didn't even expect it will turn out this well! Thanks for letting me know your situation. It really helps me in understanding my backer's perspective.
@Timothy Thanks for taking your time to comment! (And no need apologize!) I really appreciate you are able to share your own personal story with me here! I am glad that my posters can help you in sharing your love for Japanese cuisine/culture with your friends and family!
Since you already know I am also very passionate about Japanese food and culture, I feel very grateful that I decided to start the journey of designing for the things I love the most from 2 years ago! Once again, thank you sooo much for your support!!
Yay! I'm so glad you took my suggestion. I can't wait to have these framed and mounted at home. Thank you again!
Thx to your message. I backed 3 poster projects, and no space on wall...So degital date is very useful.
@David Thanks for the add-on and suggestion! ^^ I just posted an update about The Ramen Poster 2.0 being available starting from today! Please add $30 to get the physical Ramen Poster 2.0.
Unfortunately, I don't have any physical Japanese Snack Posters on hand. BUT if interested, you can still get it from Etsy.
The Japanese Snack Poster, 16x20, Maple Background (Physical)
The Japanese Snack Poster, 16x20, Sakura Background (Physical)
@Lawrence Thank you for your suggestion! And yes, you can get a physical copy of the ramen poster 2.0 if you add an extra $30 on top of your $37 pledge! (Please include the $5 shipping too) Total pledge should be $72. Once again, thanks for your suggestion, I just sent out the new add-on updates about The Ramen Poster 2.0! :)
Sorry to comment so late Fanny, but being a single, full time father of two teenage boys is a very, very time consuming job. I love your projects since I'm retired from the military and spent much of my career stationed in the Orient. I fell in love with the people, culture and especially the cuisine. Your posters allow me to share those tasty dishes with my friends and family when they visit, so I thank you for that. Keep up the good work Fanny!
Added $20 for the sushi poster. I would have added for the snack poster but you only offer the digital version. I also would have loved the physical ramen 2.0 version if it was available.
I read your add-on update and was wondering if I donate an additional $30 (instead of $20) on top of my $37 pledge, could I get a physical copy of the ramen 2.0 poster instead?
@David, thank you for asking! To get my previous poster artwork, you can visit my online shop at: http://jfoodie.tictail.com/
you can get it through add-on in this campaign. Please read more about add-on at "Add-on" section in our campaign or from our latest update. Thank you!
Any way to get your previous posters?
@Jennifer, thanks for your comment and letting me know about your situation! I never knew that poster will get damaged that way in Hawaii, even if it's inside the frame too! I am so relieved that the digital version will instantly solve your problem! Thank you for your support!
I'm a fan of the print-it-yourself option. Like Henning, I don't have a spot for it yet AND like the ability to print replacements. I live in Hawaii and sometimes moisture gets in a frame and ruins the poster. I have walls full of damaged prints :(
@Jeremy, thank you for backing my project again! And thanks for joining the conversation here. It's great to hear more and more people giving me the idea of compiling all my previous artwork into one single book. I will for sure look into publishing my very first book!
Also, I am sooo glad that you found my blog and spent some time on reading a few posts. ^^ I probably should update my blog more often... I actually have lots of cool and delicious Japanese food experiences that I want to share with everyone! Thanks for coming by!
@Justin Thank you for taking your time to comment! I really appreciate those suggestions you gave me! I am very excited about your artbook idea, I think I can really get creative with it! ^^ I will probably need some more time for a good cookbook though! I do cook more and more Japanese food now, but I think I still need to do more test-tasting and make more variety with the right authentic flavors that I had back in Japan! :)
@Fanny, I'm little embarrassed to say this, but I just found your blog. It appears you already write down lots of good stuff with great pictures and info!
I also shared the idea with Fanny of compiling her work into some type of articles or book format as well the other day! Great to hear that I wasn't the only one with that thought! I've enjoyed the posters, and I think that a back story would be great to hear, even if just a few short paragraphs. Keep up the great work!
Like I sent in a previous message it would be great if you took you made an artbook with the previous and current projects that you have on your posters. I think that or a cookbook would be a really good idea sometime in the future.
@Henning C-F, thank you for your support and taking your time to comment! :) And yes, many of my previous backers express the expensive international shipping cost, which is a serious problem for many who are living outside of the US. I am so glad the digital version is working out for you!
I really like the digital/print-your-own option which not only addresses international shipping issues but also lets people who like the poster but have not yet identified a wall to hang it in to store the poster digitally until they figure it out. Happy to support this project as both issues above apply in my case.
@Design Addict, thanks for your comment! These dishes on the poster are not the only specialties in the city. And yes, most of these specialties are the most popular and famous one in the city, a few have a very long history (over 1000 years old) in the region that makes it special, some are famous due to the local high quality food resources, and some are just very unique even within the country. (Horse sashimi)
Love the poster design, i just got some questions... are these the only specialties in their respective cities, or just the most popular one?
