About this project
The story begins with our local game and comic shop.
When we first opened FANATIX in July of 2010 we were in an 800 square foot unit, maybe 20 feet wide, 40 feet deep... seriously.
But the passion for gaming and community would not be contained within those four walls. Within three months we moved to a 1500 square foot building, then two years later a 3000 square feet building. Now, just five years later, we've recently moved into our favorite building yet...5000 square feet of gaming and comic paradise!
It is within this new facility we were inspired to upgrade our hospitality and include something we've always loved: delicious coffee, ramen, and tea. We'll be adding to the menu as the community grows and we've got some exciting ideas to try out! Take this yummy selection of food and add in a large collection of public games, chess boards, and community events and the idea behind The Board & Table comes alive.
The idea for Board & Table quickly became an obsession. I started looking everywhere for just the right fit for our coffee needs. That's when I discovered one of the coolest roasters in the Southeast, Perc.
These guys had it all... passion, beans, knowledge, and a few beards. After trying out the coffee they sent me, it was a done deal. I had to work with these guys! Taylor W. of Perc has been helping me every step of the way and this cafe is being influenced and directed by the hands of a true coffee guru. It's truly been a great experience and I hope to bring that same experience to you, my customers and friends.
With PERC on our side, we set out to conquer hospitality one cup and game at a time.
The Board and Table has a simple yet crucial goal.
Our mission is to elevate the social space of an existing retail gaming store to include a cafe environment for friends and customers to share. In addition to sales and service for all things comic and game, we'll now offer public board games, cafe food, and delicious coffee and tea to further promote good hospitality and cheer.
We're conveniently located just off highway 84 at 2970 Ross Clark Circle, Suite 2.
We've already had our soft opening for Fanatix and things are going great! We've already done 80% of the remodeling. New floors, paint, custom decorations, and furniture. But this is where you come in. We're hoping to put the cherry on top with an all wood coffee bar giving our shop a hand built fixture, featuring the names of all our founding members. We wouldn't be here without your support, and we wouldn't be growing if it weren't for pledges from the community. We have great contractors standing by to begin work when we hit our goal. And we know you're gonna love it!
Here's some pictures from the move in.
Kickstarter is a community that we know and trust.
Kickstarter has helped me launch two trade shows, publish my first card game, provide a living for countless talented friends, and now it will be the medium in which the next chapter of the Fanatix story is written.
Payments are quick, secure, and for a brief moment all of our efforts and community members come together for a single cause. Kickstarter was the only choice for this awesome challenge! Pledge with confidence and remember, payments aren't collected until the end of the campaign so pledge today and help us gain momentum!
Be sure to check out all the pledges. We hope you find something you like and if you have any questions just message us! Shipping will be available and gathered during the surveys for non local backers!

Risks and challenges
We did not launch this Kickstarter lightly or without great forethought. We are ready to start construction upon completion of this campaign. Even with this preparation, the biggest risks involved are the potential for additional unexpected delays with permits and construction. Fortunately, there are not many variables to go wrong. We have equipment picked out and talented workers standing by. We could not be doing this without your help. - Thanks!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
