There are three armor types robe, light and heavy and six weapon types split in two categories.
ARMORS : Each Hero has a preferred armor type* which will further increase the basic stats if equipped. Mages will favor robes, assassins will prefer light armors and warriors and tanks will benefit from wearing heavy armors.
· *Robe armors grant the smallest Hitpoints/Endurance bonuses instead they come with certain weapon/elements immunities.
· *Light armors have medium Hitpoints/Endurance bonuses but as a trade-off they have Speed bonuses, which will enable a player to move faster during combat.
· *Heavy armors may even encumber the Hero reducing their Speed but in exchange offering excellent Hitpoints/Endurace bonuses and very powerful defensive buffs at higher tiers.
WEAPONS : Staves and Bows are always two-handed weapons while Daggers are always one-handed weapons. Axes, Hammers and Swords can be one-handed or two-handed weapons.
NOTE : A HERO MAY CHOOSE TO EQUIP A WEAPON (two handed or one handed) AND AN ARMOR OR TWO ONE HANDED WEAPONS.
Weapons and armors in Heroes & Gods have three tiers: Normal, Magic and Legendary. Starting from the lowest tier, the items grow in power and in addition to the basic stats Hitpoints/Endurance or Damage bonuses they will grant the Hero powerful debuffs to throw at his enemies or defensive buffs to make himself more resilient on the battlefield.
ITEM SETS : very rare and very hard to obtain, the weapon-armor sets bestow upon the wearer additional advantages. Usually they unlock a secondary offensive or defensive trait which can be used in any battle.
One-time-use potions and spell scrolls have a crucial role in moving forward into the game. Strategy must be applied in order to use them properly and maximize your effect on a battlefield. Using them at a given time or saving them for later use might prove to be the difference between losing or winning. Once consumed they must be discarded.
They can be obtained from quests, reward chests , random auction houses, weekly auction house or through trade between players.
There are two types of companions in the game. Dedicated companions which can be obtained from quests or the Urgh-Nasir Auction House and multipurpose capturable monsters. During the adventure Heroes will encounter different kinds of attacking monsters. Some of them are capturable, meaning the Hero who deals the last hit will physically take the monster card and add it to his backpack.
Once owned, a captured monster can be used as a companion and aid in battles or used to create Attack Parties and sent to battle other Heroes.
The first adventure deck is focused on the Aedolas region, mostly inside and around their vast magical city, solving mysteries and gathering forgotten wisdom. The second adventure deck moves the party of Heroes to the water lands of the Takan. Here, among other things, you will battle mythical sea creatures and explore underwater caves filled with treasure. The adventure then continues with our Heroes marching high up into the Nhaaran mountains. Fortunes can be made in this land and benevolent creatures will accompany you along the way. Beware though, once you have crossed the borders and ventured into the Basharii desert, you will have to watch your back. Vindictive Zadavahs will take you by surprise, the blood mages will conjure horrors to stop your advancement or send their foot soldiers to attack your camps.
The Dice Tower preview presents the game in a general way and shows a very basic combat situation. View components, learn about the game!
Combat from the Heroes perspective and replayability sections are under development and will be posted shortly.
Risks and challenges
Common risks :
The game has been in development for the past three years and it is 95% completed. We have focused heavily on reducing the number of bugs, end game setups and erroneous encounters. As it is a player-driven game there is not much room for errors. Our promise is to keep on playtesting it until we'll send the files to the manufacturer.
The game will be produced in China. We have collected a list of possible manufacturers but in the end we have decided to choose not the cheapest but the most competent. Early prototypes were produced there and the quality has been verified.
We know this is a crucial process in the whole project. Thus shipping will be managed by a professional company, Quartermaster Logistics. Subsidies will be embedded in the final shipping price and we're adding US, EU, Canada friendly shipping. Anyway, shipping will be charged after the campaign using our pledge manager. The estimated delivery date of Heroes and Gods is August 2020.
Offering the game at such a low price will not allow us to pay the VAT for the EU backers. The other way around this issue is to try and normalize the prices by adding extra costs to the non-EU backers. With the risk of losing EU backers, we decided not to engage in this practice. We strongly believe in fairness and transparency towards everybody.
Pledges can be refunded in full up to 14 days after the end of the Kickstarter campaign.
If you ask for a refund more than 14 days after the end of the Kickstarter then we will refund your pledged amount minus the Kickstarter fees.
We are eager and open to discuss with you!
Our promise is simple, we're going to be transparent with the whole process. Each important step will be announced in the Updates section, by e-mail and on our Discord Server.
By pledging to this project you acknowledge that the art, materials, and all its contents are subject to change and may differ from what we've shown in the Kickstarter project. There could also be slight differences between the digital and the physical product.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
