"This game works very well, it's incredibly fast... you can build up some very, very nice card combo engines." Rahdo (board game videographer)
"I played this with my 11-year-old son, the deckbuilding fan of the family, and we both had an amazing time playing... It’s an excellent price for an excellent game." Rob Kalajian from Purple Pawn (board game reviewer) Read the full preview here.
"The mechanics are well thought out and keep the game close and competitive, keeping all players engaged until the very end." Jason Elliott from PaladinElliott Productions (Board Game Reviewer) Read the full review here.
"If you like dice in a game and like strategy this should be a game for you. After you build up a small array of scrolls any random factor from the dice can start to be mitigated quite easily." TableTop Dad (test player/reviewer)
"I've played this game several times through its prototypes and have loved it every time. I'm highly looking forward to its official release so that I can get more people on board to play whenever I want." Patric Depue (test player)
"At the beginning of the game the dice are used solely to create energy and mana to buy cards which the players draft from a central pool. Later on in the game the results you get from the dice let you activate cards that you've bought for more powerful effects. I realize that none of that, in writing, screams radically different from anything you've seen before but in my experience, which is substantial, I have not played a game like it yet." Kevin Kennedy (test player/developer)

When the Evertree falls under a mysterious curse, the elders fear that without a rare potion it will surely die. Now an unlikely group of fledgling Mages must journey to the Sky Tower of Ae’ruim to recover the potion and heal the Evertree. In order to accomplish this seemingly impossible task, they must test their magic against four increasingly difficult locations before facing the evil that awaits within Ae’ruim's spiraling chambers, in a final battle of arcane sorcery!
Mageling is a “dice activation” game in which 1-4 players use a set of custom Rune Dice to acquire and activate magical scrolls that they collect on their journey. Players must choose these scrolls wisely as there are many forms of magic to explore: delve into the world of Dream to draw upon visions and spirits from the nexus; commune with the wisdom of Hedge to harness strange magical creatures; master Death to haunt your opponents; bring order to runes through Divination; or open your mind to the mysterious path of Aether to merge all five schools of magic into one devastating confluence of energy. Whichever path you choose, you must learn to adapt to the shifting magic of the nexus. Now go forth and find the power within!

A note from the designer
While designing Mageling I drew inspiration from games such as King of Tokyo, Elder Sign, Smash Up!, and—most of all—Ascension: Deckbuilding Game for IOS. Playing this app allowed me to experience Ascension without the usual shuffling and card sorting found in deck-building games. I wanted Mageling to be just as effortless to play and enjoy.
Mageling uses a unique set of dice-based mechanisms to capture some of the feeling of the Ascension app in a tabletop environment. It is quick to set up and teach, and it has components that make it easy to keep track of gameplay. Mageling flows smoothly and rewards both strategic and tactical gameplay. I hope you enjoy it!

Risks and challenges
We are first time publishers on a mission to bring you an amazing board game at an affordable price, that ships on time. We have worked closely with Panda Game Manufacturer to ensure Mageling is crafted in a way that reflects our commitment to excellence. The biggest obstacles that we see for the months ahead are the art that the game still needs and international shipping.
Charles Butler is the lead illustrator for Mageling. Charles is a professional illustrator who successfully meets deadlines. He has created several Kickstarter projects of his own which have all been fulfilled without incident. To complete this project Charles has provided us with a detailed time table to complete the game art.
To help us with our shipping we have Marlene Koncewicz on our team. Marlene has been running an online eBay shop called Clothing Cycler for the past 14 years. With hundreds of orders fulfilled, Marlene has maintained 100% positive feedback from her eBay customers. We know that the challenges of shipping overseas will require new levels of planning and organization; however, we have done the groundwork and preparation to ensure that your order will be fulfilled on time.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
