Fallen to Flux - Project Transitions
We are Fallen To Flux, an established unsigned London band, with a vision to reinvigorate the metal genre. Project “Transitions” is the culmination of our personal and collective development over the recent years, reflecting the chaotic changes experienced by ourselves and the world in general. Our debut album will explore such themes, while developing further our unique fusion of melody and intensity.
Join us for a once-in-a-lifetime moment, as individuals and as a band, as we embark on our most ambitious work to date. We can’t wait, can you?
Who we are
"Both barrels are pointed your way; prepare yourself for the wave of metal goodness!"
Eyes from the Moshpit reviewed our 2012 debut EP “Piece By Piece”, with a statement underlining our potential. Since then we have released two music videos and a second EP, "From the Outside, Looking In". Having played venues like the O2 Academy2 Islington and Camden Rocks Festival, as well as touring the UK for the first time, we’ve developed an exciting and inclusive live performance style. Have a look at our singles Disenchanted and Living with the Pain if you don't know our music yet!
We are Oli (Vox, Guitar), Bjorn (Guitar), Luke (Bass) and Declan (Drums). Chances are that you are in contact with one of us, but if you have any questions or just want to chat, drop us a line at firstname.lastname@example.org or on our social media sites (facebook, twitter)! If you want to know the full Fallen to Flux story, have a look at our official biography/diary!
We see ourselves as singer-songwriters gone metal, combining the best of melodic songwriting with the intensity of modern metal. The cornerstones of our sound are Bullet for my Valentine, Avenged Sevenfold and Architects. For us, the greatest compliment is: "I don't usually like metal/rock, but your music is great!"
As individuals and as a band we have grown tremendously over recent years, and the emotional, and therefore lyrical, content of this project is an ode to this process. Exploring the human challenges of facing the realities of the modern world and developing a personal belief system accordingly, “Transitions” is motivated by this opportunity to share music that we love combined with treasured reflections. We need your assistance for this project and we would love to have you involved as much as possible, by staying in touch with us. Let us know your thoughts!
“Project Transitions" is an album about transformations, about finding the strength to overcome the hardships all of us face and about finding what we really want from our lives. Inspired by experiences of change in our own lives, our goal is to explore every possible direction our music can go. Our main goal is variety - from Pop-Rock influenced choruses to the heaviest Mathcore riffing, everything will be present. The album will be produced and engineered by Justin Hill (Young Guns / Yashin / Heart of a Coward), guaranteeing the biggest sound we've ever had!
Let's now get to the rewards we are offering. This is a community project and not possible without you therefore we want to give you the best FTF experience possible. If there's something you really want but is not listed in the rewards, feel free to suggest it (email@example.com).
Everyone showing their support with as little as £2 will receive a signed copy of the 'making-of' our album (a pdf documentary in pictures, including the lyrics to all songs and the story behind them). Frankly, the important part we're all waiting for though is the music! With £8 you will receive the full album audio ahead of time and for £10 you will be one of the first to also see the music videos!
Further rewards include merchandise from the brand new line (or, if you prefer, from the existing store here), gig tickets and insight into the album production. We're especially happy to invite you to a listening party to help us choose our singles. We're looking forward to getting to know all of you!
In total we will need £9,500 to record and produce the album, shoot music videos and create all accompanying content such as merchandise and artworks. The exact breakdown of costs is:
Recording of Audio, Mixing and Mastering - £6800
Production of Music Videos - £2200
Photography, Album Artwork and Merchandise - £500
Risks and challenges
The biggest risk in any music production is time delay during production and editing. Even though we do our best producing demos and perfecting the tracks before we enter the studio, we may need to invest more time in our music than we anticipated. Unfortunately, a single delay in the audio production affects the editing of music videos and other areas, increasing the total delay.
We experienced this problem already during the production of FTOLI. This time we will produce high-quality demos of all tracks and start exchanging them with the producer and sound engineer months before we enter the studio (we have already done so for weeks), so that all ideas can be discussed outside of valuable studio time. This will reduce the risk of delays during audio production significantly.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
