About this project
Here we are in 2011 with more technology and gadgets than we could have ever imagined. How did it all come to be?
What it's about
Our first issue: The Evolution of Mobile Technology, will show how technology has evolved over the last decade and where it will take us in future.
Some features to expect in the issue:
• Man and flight
• What ever happened to the Space hotel?
• The first electric car
• How technology changed art forever
• The death of digital media
• The future of humans and technology
In addition to these features we will have a year-by-year look at the 100s of innovative and notable technologies, devices and events that took place within the mobile industry during this time.
Much of the information on the Internet becomes archived, obsolete, or wiped out within 5 years. Especially in the early days of the Internet, most of that information is long gone. Mergers and acquisitions take place, domain names change, images and notable press announcements of products are rarely saved. Some larger corporations archive back to 10+ years, but there are only a handful of them. Other fly-by-nights are lost forever. Our archives date back 15 years, with it, we are able to produce an accurate historical retrospective on the most influential technologies that passed us by. Many are still in existence today and have evolved in fun new ways, others we should have probably forgotten about but we'll let you see them anyway. Documenting this information in a printed medium is crucial to the preservation of technology and for future generations to reflect upon our past.
What you'll get
Your pledge to meet our goal will cover the basic printing costs. We hate killing trees as much as the next person, that's why we will use as much recycled paper content as possible. It will also help us print a few extra issues to send out to advertisers. We have tried to sell ads to fund this project in the past to no avail. The magazine advertising industry is cut throat. Without an already existing and circulating publication or a massive publishing arm to back you, it's a "hard sell."
Donations at the $25 bar will help us gauge the level of interest that this project has and then decide how many we will print. The PDF digital edition is important, but not as important as the printed version.
Please note: Website links and banner incentives are for 30 days.
One last thing! When you donate, please be sure that the contact information you provide is accurate.
Thank you for your support!
