Thanks for taking the time check out our campaign.
Traditional chef jackets date back to the mid 19th century and since then haven't changed much.
We're tired of poor quality hospitality workwear that doesn’t last and hate spending our spare time and money washing or replacing our uniforms.
So we designed a range of stain-resistant Chef Jackets and Aprons using the world's leading patented hydrophobic nanotechnology that repels water, dirt and oil.
Most stains either run off by themselves or can easily be rinsed off with a little water. This means they don’t need to be washed as often saving you time and money.
We’re really proud of what we’ve created and we hope you you’ll support us.

Stain-free workwear that last longer.
We crafted our Chef Jackets and Aprons with the industry’s best performing and longest lasting nanotechnology application for repelling water, dirt and oil.
Designed By Chefs For Chefs.
We’ve spent some time in professional kitchens so we know what to look for in great Chef Jackets and aprons that look great and perform even better.
Save money and time.
Our jackets save you time and money by not having to replace or clean them as often.
Better for the environment.
Washing your workwear less often and with colder water and less chemicals is better for the environment.
We have partnered with one of the largest manufacturers in the world that only make the highest quality products.
Our vision is to create the world’s most advanced workwear using technology and design.
This first product is aimed at serving the hospitality industry, by developing a range of hydrophobic Chef Jackets and Aprons.
We want to improve how people feel when they put on their uniforms, to go to work by making workwear that is cleaner, safer, more hygienic and better for the environment.
Hydrophobic Chef Jackets and aprons are just the beginning, and with all of your support we will be looking at shaking up other industries too.
Our next project will most likely take us into the medical industry to produce design medical scrubs, nurses uniforms and lab coats.
This is our passion and life long journey we’re extremely excited and inspired to be a part of. We hope that we can share it with you.
Expensive to wash
Washing your uniforms everyday cost a lot of money.
Wasting precious free time.
Washing your clothes everyday wastes hours.
Getting dirty and looking unprofessional.
Working in a kitchen, restaurant or a bar can get messy.
Replacing uniforms is expensive.
Buying new uniforms to replace dirty ones costs a lot.
Harmful chemicals are bad.
Detergents are bad for your health and the environment.
Washing at hot temperatures.
Always using hot water to wash your clothes is a waste of energy.
Hydrophobic nanotechnology that repels liquids
Microscopic nanoparticles are bonded into our fabric, which repel stains keeping you clean and stain free.
Save time and money.
Save time and money not having to clean or replace your workwear as often.
Better for the environment.
You don’t have to wash these jackets and aprons as often which is better for the environment and your pocket.
Safe and proven technology.
Our Chef Jackets and Aprons emulate the natural hydrophobic properties of the lotus leaf and the technology completely safe to wear.
Outperform traditional fabric treatments.
Standard Chef Jackets need to be replaced more frequently due to degradation of the fabric and permanent stains.
Retain fabric softness and breathability.
The nanotechnology application does not affect the natural breathability or softness of the fabric unlike other harmful hydrophobic sprays on the market.
Self Cleaning effect.
Stains can simply be rinsed off with some water.
What is nanotechnology?
Nanotechnology is the manipulation of matter on a molecular scale. If you compared the size of the nanoworld to an orange, it would be the same as comparing the same orange to Earth.
By manipulating the building blocks of fabric we change the surface property of the object.
The nanotechnology application that we apply modifies the fabric at a molecular level by permanently attaching hydrophobic ‘whiskers’ to individual fibers which elevate liquids, causing them to bead up and turn into spheres that roll off the fabric surface.
We embed this technology into our Chef Jackets and Aprons when we produce the cotton from scratch. It has no effect on fabric comfort, look, feel, breathability or elasticity and means a lot longer lasting application.
Inspired by nature
The fabric can be made to repel water like the lotus flower does in nature by minimizing the adhesion of the fabric's surface.
Nanoparticles alter the material to a much higher degree of water and stain resistance without interfering with the weave’s breathability.
We think Kickstarter is a fantastic platform for early stage ideas to get support from people who actually want to use their products.
It's home to an awesome community of early adopters, innovators, artists and the intellectually curious.
To get our project to this point we have raised some initial start up capital from friends and family, but to get the next stage we need your support.
Right now Kickstarter is the only place in the world that you can buy one of our products. Pre-ordering today helps us reach those last crucial milestones.
In return, you’ll be one of the first to get your our Chef Jacket and Apron and be an early adopter of this awesome product.
We’ve currently partnered with one the world’s largest clothing manufacturers and have done a full production run the prove the concept on a hydrophobic T-Shirt, which was a huge success.
Our manufacturer also produces apparel for some of the best fashion brands in the world, in units of 500,000 and above.
We need to reach our funding goal in order to start mass producing our Chef Jackets and Aprons and place a bulk order.
The majority of the money will be used to cover all production costs, while the rest will help us pay for shipping and successfully launching our company.
We’re also working diligently with website developers to build our main eCommerce website to ensure that we have a scalable system to process and fulfill global distribution.
We expect to be selling Fabricor Workwear to the general public in February 2015.
We’ve been working on this idea for nearly a year now and together are really excited to launch our new hydrophobic Chef Jackets and Aprons to the world.
As professional chefs we use our jackets and aprons everyday at work. In the kitchen we’re exposed to the water and stains in making every meal. We’re tired of struggling with dirty Chef Jackets and Aprons that needed a wash after every wear.
So we decided to do something about it and we hope you join us.
Sign up to our members list www.fabricorworkwear.com and keep up to date with our journey.
Of course pledges are important and this product will not happen without them but we also want to hear what you think about our concept.
Feel free to contact us with any questions, comments or ideas you may have.
If you are a restaurant or a bar, retailer or a distributor, journalist, blogger we would love to hear from you.
You can find all our downloadable logos, images and videos on the Presskit page of our website.
Risks and challenges
We’ve worked really hard to develop this product to this point and need your help to reach our next crucial milestone.
But here’s where we see the risks:
We have limited the quantities available for purchase which should cut out most of the risk of fulfilment for now. We will be using Australia Post to mail out our orders and have not had an issue with them in the past.
We have access to two huge warehouses in an industrial area of Melbourne Victoria. Limiting our rewards reduces the risk of not being able to store our product.
LEAD TIME & DELIVERY
Knowing the exact timeline for production is never an easy thing to perfect. However thanks to the existing relationships with the factory that we have created we’re confident that we can fulfill all orders by February 2015.
As we get ready for place our order, there will likely be some minor design adjustments to us to improve our final products. Pre-production samples will be made to test and refine the products and allow us to test those adjustments suggested by experienced manufacturers and from our backers. The benefit of this is a better product for you and of course we will let you know exactly how and why any are made.
To minimize the possibility of manufacturing setbacks we have met with a second manufacturing facility. This helps to ensure smooth sailing from production to you.
We have used this technology before to produce sample hydrophobic 100% cotton T-Shirts to prove the concept. The technology has been safely used in textile production for years.
We believe these risks are manageable and promise to share with you with all the details of our journey. Any pledge you give, brings us another step closer to bringing this product to life.
