THE GUEST ARTISTS
We hand picked the CRUNCHIEST line-up of Street Artists and Visionary Artists from around the globe to assist in manifesting the Elements, with each artist developing and transforming their Universal building block into a visual portal that tells the story of the Element!
We spent over a year developing the "Royal Pack", which contains 34 Element designs and scientific information pertinent to each. This information is presented in simple icon format, describing the properties of each Element. The Royal Pack is a large, Tarot Sized Card Deck (7 x 12 cm / 2.75 x 4.75"), printed on Premium Quality Paper (350gsm) with rounded edges and a Smooth Finish. But we have more Elements to include and with your assistance we can complete all 118 Element designs, pursue more amazing artists, and assign more Elements to our core Guest Artists!
atommix :: is a Card Game visually portraying the 118 Elements of the Periodic Table, allowing Players to experience true chemistry through visual storytelling! Our primary goal for the game is to make the Periodic Table approachable for children as well as adults, while exploring a creative way to educate ourselves and the next generation. The 42 Card Royal Pack, including 34 Elements and 6 action cards, comes neatly packaged in a hardcover "Boom Box", nestled alongside the Complete Rule Book, allowing Backers access to the most abundant Elements.
LEVEL 1 is the simplest, where the goal is to experience the Elements by Family. An Element family is a set of Elements sharing common properties. This is a useful way of looking at the Periodic Table with a fresh point of view, and it helps us remember the Elements and their families the more we play! It is a very quick game, between five to ten minutes, so it is perfect for a short coffee break, or as an activity with children. We also have fun shouting out the names of each Element we discard as we play.
LEVEL 2 adds some spice to the game. This time we are experimenting with Energy Levels. Electrons in an atom are contained in specific Energy Levels (1-7). The larger the number of the Energy Level, the more energy and mass it contains. In the "classic" Periodic Table each row of the table represents an Energy Level. LEVEL 2 makes it easy to grasp the order of Elements from lightest to the heaviest, in a playful manor. We also introduce our 3 ACTION CARDS, which add strategy and surprise to the game!
LEVEL 3 is a whole different ballgame, well Card Game. This Level is a fun way to explore the properties of each Element, or as we like to call them "Special Effects". By comparing the Special Effects we can find similarities between the Elements and see the correlation between the Families (the colors). The Winner is the first to score 10 Points by matching Special Effects with another. In your turn you can either gain points or disrupt and block your Opponent from gaining points. The Action Cards in this level enhance the battle between the players in reaching the Top Score.
Level 4 is for advanced gamers and withholds the key to unlocking all of the properties of the Elements, including: Special Effect, Energy Levels and Families into one game. By being the best Card Collector and Bidder you can WIN the highest score to rule the Microworld! Battle for your chance to be Player 1 and unlock the Elements of your choice. The first to collect 6 cards in his scoring zone ends the game. But you might be surprised who will be the actual winner.

Sermob is a Mexico based artist using tight lifework in his murals and compositions to convey a deep message concerning the unity of all things living, and the profound connection between cause and effect.
Emily Ding is a Texas based artist with tenacious ambition and relentless drive, whose devotion to the visual arts exhibits itself in artwork bearing messages related to caring for all creatures, and a focus on movement and flow which she describes as “visceral”.
Dionne Ong is a Vancouver based artist with a focus on transforming strange animals into graphical line flow, and artwork that tells stories of enchanting, haunted forests, moonlight critters and other oddities.
Why a Card Game?
Most of us have long ago discarded the Periodic Table from memory, but in order for it to genuinely stick we have combined the Elemental properties with visual language, which is immediately interpreted by the brain. Our brains are far more engaged by storytelling than just plain text, so by placing powerful and beautiful images next to words our brains create an immediate connection between the two - just like in advertising - the same manipulation can be used for a better purpose!
Who is EXTRA CRUNCHY?
We are a duo of street artists otherwise known as Extra Crunchy. In the past three years we have traveled around the world painting murals and spreading good vibes. Last year a unique concept dawned upon us, one that would allow us to learn more about the building blocks of our reality - the atoms from which we and everything around us are made, and this path led to the creation of atommix ::
We enjoy exploring many fields, but street murals are a favorite because they are out where people can see them, the scale is fun, and it is a great way to share positive messages through art.
We decided to use our mural making skills to promote atommix :: and had the pleasure of traveling to three technology institute events across India, each giving us the opportunity to paint live Element murals and share the concept of the Game.
As creative explorers we also love finding new sources of inspiration and sharing them. This project is a great opportunity to get exposed to art that speaks a language higher than words!

"The first thing we noticed is the incredible art on the cards. Sometimes unusual, sometimes beautiful, but always interesting to look at. This game plays in different levels. You can up the level to add a little more, or step it down to have an easy 'beer and pretzel' sort of game...Overall I'm excited to see where this game goes and what they add next to the game play."

Risks and challenges
The atommix :: project is a "product development" Kickstarter as opposed to a "product release", which means that we will continue developing the game structure, rule book, and designs throughout the campaign. While this provides Backers a unique opportunity to take part in the process of development, providing feedback and reflections, it also means that the exact game play will continue to change. With only 34 Elements currently completed some of the "levels of play" are inaccessible, which is precisely why we have turned to YOU, the Backers! If the campaign is successful we will be able to complete the entire Periodic Table and all 118 Elements, thus ensuring that ALL levels of play are accessible. We understand that most games are fully developed by the time a Kickstarter campaign begins, so a project development campaign is risky. We are, first and foremost, artists and designers. While we also enjoy games and game play, this is our first attempt at creating one. Nevertheless, we believe that with the assistance of Backers we will not only complete the entire Periodic Table, but will also develop a highly enjoyable and "playable" game! This process may also affect the "approximated delivery dates" as we will not ship out rewards until we are completely sure that the game is solid.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
