EX-Pats Theatre Company is a non-profit Chicago theatre started in 2010 focused on giving light to under-produced or original works of theatre. Similarly essential in their vision is reaching out to the disenfranchised in the Uptown community and beyond through acts of service and art.
We have worked in the Uptown area hosting a weekly open mic providing members of the community a chance to showcase their art in a safe environment. We have been fortunate enough to host acts from all across the country. Beatboxers, story-tellers, jugglers, singer/songwriters, spoken word artists, comedians, rappers, full bands, and many more have graced the stage with us.
We have also begun forging a relationship with Cornerstone Outreach where we volunteer weekly at their soup kitchen and food pantry.
In addition to this, we are hatching a number of new projects aimed at involving silenced voices in the Chicago scene through acts of artistic expression.
EX-Pats had incredible success with their first short play festival. In June, we hosted the 23 1/2 Hour Play Festival, where 35+ writers, actors, singers, musicians, directors and filmmakers congregated to create six original pieces of site specific theatre, film and composition.
We're following up with End of Plays, a short play festival centering on the prophesy of Harold Camping that the world will end on October 21. Six commissioned world-premiers will address the theme of the imposing rapture. Three of the six will debut on October 21, concentrating on the night before the world is to end; the other three will premier the following night, looking at the world the night after the world either does or does not end. As with all EX-Pats endeavors, this promises to be memorable.

We're asking for a little help. To make great art, we need generous souls like yourself. Please, lend us a hand, and donate a couple dollars to a good cause. We will be super grateful and even offer some generous rewards in return.
We need funding for:
- Stage Managers
We sincerely believe this is worthwhile, important theatre. It needs to be produced, and we want to be the vehicle to do so. If you can offer your support, even in the form of a few bucks, we would be immensely appreciative. Please. Forego a cup of coffee and give a little something to a good cause.
The EX-Pats Love You.
