Has the assembled apoc basics been sent out yet, from the uk here and haven't recieved it yet if it has?

    2. Creator Thomas G on December 19, 2013

I meant that I have not received the Advanced replacement option of Advanced: 1 assembled APOC Basic, 1 APOC Basic Kit, and a $20 refund via PayPal.

      Tom

    3. Creator Thomas G on December 19, 2013

I pledged for the APOC ADVANCED but I see from the update that it was not possible to make that work. I filled out the survey for the replacement option but have not received the Super Combo. Any news on shipping these ?

I know you were trying for a compact design but had you considered a Dumbbell shell design where the BT would be a distance away from the detector to keep the interference down ?

      Thanks,
      Tom

    4. Creator George Mack on November 15, 2013

If anyone needs someone to build their basic kit for them, I have built three of them successfully.

I will charge $25 for assembly to include tracked first class shipping in the USA BOTH ways (as long as you have a printer to print the shipping label I send you).

In most cases I offer a 2 business day turnaround (if it arrives to me Monday then I ship Wednesday).

Because kickstarter messages are here permanently I have set up an email address that I can disable if the spam becomes to great. Email at cltelectronics@hmamail.com then I will reply to you from my real email address. Feel free to ask any questions you need to as far as my services offered.

I communicate extremely quickly and you will find your experience with me as refreshing as possible.

I am not affiliated with excel physics in any way minus the fact that I backed 3 basic kits and bought a source disk.

    5. Creator Jost Jahn on November 13, 2013

My APOC is also not sent until today

    6. Creator Daniel König on November 10, 2013

-Sorry, that got sent to soon ;)

Just wondering, it has been some days now - i think i am d'accord with most people: Still not trying to rush, i do realize it must be quite some strain to try and fulfill the orders. But at the same time it would be great to be kept in the loop

    7. Creator ExcelPhysics on November 4, 2013

Hey backers! We are writing up the next update and should have it posted in a day or two.

    8. Creator Christopher Lee on October 31, 2013

Hey guys - I don't think anyone expects Kickstarter projects to be exactly on time, but it would be nice to throw your backers a little bit of info from time to time when you fail to meet your estimated delivery dates. The last update was over a month and a half ago

    9. Creator Djon on October 30, 2013

Hello. When will I receive APOC? October ends. And how I see, I am not alone

    10. Creator curtis horn on October 30, 2013

So, how is the assembly of the advanced APOC going?

    11. Creator Justin Kieft on October 24, 2013

Same here any news when the APOC Advanced will be shipping.

    12. Creator Pierre Metivier on October 21, 2013

Hi all has the schematic been released yet, still waiting??

    13. Creator Christopher Lee on October 16, 2013

The APOC Advanced backers would love an update of some sort

    14. Creator Heri Sim on October 9, 2013

I haven't gotten my APOC till today?

    15. Creator Fu on October 8, 2013

What's the status on the Advanced model? No rush, just curious.

    16. Creator ExcelPhysics on October 4, 2013

@Natasha We're working on the last batch of 40 some Assembled APOCs, you will be getting an notice of shipment in 3-5 days.

    18. Creator Natasha Graveline on October 4, 2013

So, Estimated delivery: Jul 2013 and it's Oct 4th. What's going on here?
No reply to my Sept. 3rd post...
I hear some chatter of software, but when will the hardware be delivered?

    19. Creator Herbert on October 3, 2013

Hi Matt and David - sounds very good, I'm looking forward to the experiments & trying out the software.

    20. Creator ExcelPhysics on October 2, 2013

@herbert, We are getting closer to finished with all the assembly of the detectors, so then we will have more time to devote to the software. We have spent a great deal of time on it already (between ourselves or friends) and are making good progress on the apps, however still buggy and not ready for prime time. I did do some videos on linking the APOC to a computer and analyzing the pulses with PRA software and using the Arduino to do counts per minute measurements. within the next few weeks assembly will be done and we will make more videos and tutorials on different experiments and measurement techniques, basically fun stuff.

    21. Creator ExcelPhysics on October 2, 2013

@arn We have been working hard to get all the Apoc units built, calibrated and shipped, and have not had much time to work on the Reddit, but we will try and post more frequently. I am very happy to see that you got your detector kit built and working though!

    22. Creator Herbert on September 26, 2013

Hi Matt and David - any Word how the software is coming along?

    23. Creator arn on September 20, 2013

Hey are you guys not looking/responding on your Reddit corner ?

    24. Creator arn on September 17, 2013

Received my kit a while ago and assembled it over the last 3 days. Soldering was a bit tough since I've not had any practice in a long time and the board and solder-pads are very small. However after soldering and assembly it worked right off the bat. I ripped out an americium tablet from a smoke-alarm (as recommended on the website) and calibrated against that. Works beautifully. Now I'm thinking about several ways to mod it. I have some ideas I'll post later.

    25. Creator Gerhard Fertl on September 9, 2013

Hi, i´m still waiting for my assembled APOC. I thought it would be delivered in July and now it is September. Can you give me any info what is the status of the shipment now?

    26. Creator antimix on September 8, 2013

@ExcelPhysics I mounted my kit, and now it seems to work.
      However:
      - A 0.1pF condenser was missed from the shipping box, I was lucky to have one.
      - Mounting was tricky, due to very small holes, requiring a good soldering skills, a very steady hand, and a small iron tip, Not for all.
      - You did not mention if the double face PCB was already UP/DOWN connected and it was not necessary solder up and down any component.
      - In the doubt I soldered doubled, and this caused to much heath to be absorbed by some components with little damage. Probably it was not necessary.
      - I will need to get some Thorium 232 this week, so that l could try a better calibration. My Potassium Chlorate contained in the salt did not react at all.
      - Still not tested with iPhone and Arduino.

    27. Creator Daniel on September 6, 2013

@ExcelPhysics not sure whether the Uk ones have shipped yet - but would like to upgrade my 'kit' to an assembled one if possible?

    28. Creator George Mack on September 5, 2013

Just poking it out there, seeing not all of them have been delivered yet my "right now" shipping might appeal to a small market. Also seeing that there is no additional ability to purchase assembled units the $80 and $100 price points are mute. I've been buying and selling on eBay for a long time and I often get better than market value from people because I am reliable and ship fast.

    29. Creator Herbert on September 5, 2013

@George Mack: You ask for US $149.99 on ebay for an assembled APOC basic - wow. One would really have to be desperate to buy it from you, since excelphysics asked 80$ for the same product here as early bird or 100$ regular... I guess if they offer it officially in their shop it will still be cheaper than your offer.

    30. Creator George Mack on September 5, 2013

my friend stiffed me with an APOC basic after I ordered from him, if you want one assembled and tested, i ship within 24 hours

    31. Creator Marc on September 4, 2013

Okay nevermind. Received my assembled APOC and seems to work. Need to mess with it more. Looks great though!

    32. Creator Natasha Graveline on September 3, 2013

Central Canada asking if you have shipped.? We are all very excited about the delivery date!

    33. Creator Michael Kennedy on September 3, 2013

      Great device!

I've been toying with it to get a feel for where the "radiation free" area is around a CT Scanner.

Now I need a tool to measure dose/time (and to brush up on my very rusty oscilloscope skills, once I figure out how to get my Galaxy S3 to work with it using the audio cable).

Any way we'll be able to upgrade a Basic to an Advanced (in the future)???

    34. Creator Mike Metzler on September 3, 2013

Received my APOC and I love it. The case on it is much better looking than the original prototype shown during the campaign.

    35. Creator Christopher Lee on August 29, 2013

It's been a couple weeks since the last update on when backers can expect the APOC Advanced model to ship - any news?

    36. Creator Pascal on August 28, 2013

Is it normal that until today I have not received my APOC yet?
Could you give me some info on why?

    37. Creator antimix on August 28, 2013

Hi, I just received my APOC kit in Italy.
I will assemble in the next week end.
Then I will try with one iPhone APP. This is not your "unreleased" app, but another iPhone APP that claims to work with any radiation device that "emits" the click signal through the audio cable.
I am curious to see the results and how it works.
      Best Regards

    38. Creator Marc on August 27, 2013

I see that some people have received their APOC kits and one person only got a shipping notification for their assembled APOC 7 mins ago. I have not received any notification for my assembled APOC or anything. Could I get some kind of update please?

    39. Creator Jeremy Weyand on August 27, 2013

I just got shipping notification of my assembled APOC, so they're going out now...

    40. Creator Herbert on August 27, 2013

One thing I noticed while playing around with the assembled APOC: Even after a conservative calibration it is very sensitive to some HF-signals. If I bring it near a 4 MHz oszillator on an Arduino shield it goes haywire. Is some part of the electronics working as antenna boosting the HF-Noise, or are the photodiodes somehow able to pick up HF? If so, how much of the picked up signals are HF-Noise and will this be distinguishable from true gamma events with the analysis application to come?

    41. Creator Herbert on August 25, 2013

Just spent a nice (rainy) sunday afternoon assembling the apoc kit following the videos. Everything worked like a charm, even though I have not soldered for a long time - it was fun, and something I wanted to to again for a long time. So thank you excel physics for a really great project and a neat radiation detector.

Do you know when the first version of smartphone and/or PC-Software will be available? Ever since your demo video with the isotope detection I'm looking forward to try this myself.

    42. Creator rob on August 19, 2013

Do you have a revised estimate for the shipment of the APOC advanced (assembled) units?

The self-assembly kits (with help from the nice videos) are great! My kits arrived last week.

    43. Creator Djon on August 17, 2013

Hello, you sent me APOC ? Where can I see information?

    44. Creator Parisri on August 12, 2013

Hello, I still don't received the assembled Basic APOC detector.
      I'm the EARLY BIRD SPECIAL.
      Do you ship it ?

    45. Creator ExcelPhysics on August 9, 2013

Been a bit too busy recently to reply to comments!
      @Jose please watch http://www.youtube.com/watch…

      @Tony I've sent you a PM

      @Evaristo Sure why not?

@Natasha We're aiming to ship the rest of the Assembled APOCS by middle of next week.

    46. Creator Natasha Graveline on August 9, 2013

ETA on fully assembled units going to Canada?

Alright, finally sat down with my kit. Outcome is not too good. On/off switch is unreliable and LED is green. Also, there is output regardless of CLK jumper setting. My best guess is I got these items too hot. What are the part numbers for a new switch and four prong header to fit the board?

    49. Creator Jose Rodriguez on August 6, 2013

I just finished calibrating mine and it worked (it ticks)! The PCB assembly was not hard (no SMD's). But now that it works, what to do with it? Also what are the headers for, are they documented somewhere? And a schematic diagram would be nice ...
