It all started with EXCEEDINGLY VEGAN…
Hello! I’m Philipp from Exceedinglyvegan.com
I am very passionate about cooking, so I develop and share easy-to-follow vegan recipes on my blog. With Exceedingly Vegan, I try to be a positive role model, showing people just how easy it is to cook delicious vegan food. My mission is to get everybody back to the table and enjoying food together – both vegans and non-vegans.
I was looking for a vegan dairy replacement…
I first came across tahini when I was looking at dairy replacements for dips and dressings, and it was love at first sight! Tahini is made from blended sesame seeds and tastes a little like yoghurt or sour cream. When it's mixed with lemon juice and water it's super-delicious, but also healthy and high in calcium, protein and iron. It's no wonder that it's used a lot in Middle Eastern cuisine.
My aim is to take tahini to a wider audience and to show how people can enhance almost any dish without having to spend a lot of time preparing meals and without using complicated ingredients.
Together with my team of Stephanie, Chris and my brother Georg, I have created a range of three flavourful and vibrant tahini-based dressings and called them Dressini.
Bringing fun back to nutrition
When we did our research, we realised that the majority of condiments available right now are unhealthy, with complete disregard to nutrition. Most of them are loaded with sugar and bad fats, and they lack health benefits. We saw the same old dressings everywhere and we craved something new, nutritious and exciting.
By using tahini in our dressings and boosting the flavour with only natural ingredients like roasted garlic, turmeric, beetroot, ginger and fresh herbs, we developed healthy and innovative plant-based dressings. We think that everyone will love our vibrant range – both vegans and flexitarians.
Why are we so excited about tahini?
Tahini is versatile
Used as a major component of hummus, baba ganoush and halva, tahini can also be served as a dip on its own. Made from toasted sesame seeds and blended simply with water, lemon juice and salt, it’s a natural product and is used a lot in Middle Eastern cuisine.
Tahini is healthy
- Almost 4x more calcium than milk: Tahini is one of the best plant-based sources of calcium and so serves as a brilliant dairy replacement.
- High in iron: An essential element for blood production.
- High in protein: It has 20% complete protein, making it a higher source of protein than most nuts.
- Good for healthy and beautiful skin: It is high in unsaturated fat (good fat!) and so helps to maintain healthy glow.
- Rich in minerals: Tahini is also rich in other minerals like phosphorus, lecithin, magnesium and potassium.
- Good for detoxification: It’s a good source of Methionine, which aids liver detoxification.
- High in B vitamins: Tahini is high in vitamins B1, B2, B3, B5 and B15, which boost energy and brain function.
- Promotes health: It also contains vitamin E, which helps to protect against heart disease and strokes.
Tahini is delicious
When mixed with lemon juice and water, tahini tastes like yoghurt or sour cream but with a delicate sesame flavour. Tahini paste on its own is a bit bitter but adding lemon juice to it takes away that bitterness and gives it its characteristic richness. Following our extensive research we have chosen a tahini that has a softer taste, while its richness and smoothness combined with our unique recipes will cater for any taste.

Our Kickstarter campaign
We can’t wait to share our Dressini dressings with you!
We want to produce the first batches of Dressini professionally, to get them into stores and out to you. However, the initial production run, packaging and storage are expensive, and that’s why we need your support.
With your help we can take these incredibly versatile dressings to market and along with more colour, we can introduce healthy, tasty ingredients into the condiment and sauces sector.
You could be the first to get your hands on these ground-breaking new plant-based products by supporting our Kickstarter campaign. Thank you so much!
Risks and challenges
We have worked tirelessly to create amazing flavours that everyone will love. We have developed our dressings with the help of a professional food development agency who specialise in plant-based products to make sure that we meet all of the industry standards and food safety requirements.
We started testing in small batches, but with any new product there is always the risk that as commercial production commences the ingredients might behave differently when used in bigger quantities. To mitigate such risks we have sourced a well-established UK-based condiment manufacturer with extensive experience in bringing new products to market. We are confident that together with them, we will be able to deliver a great, high-quality product.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
