Have Sad Friends Who Missed the Kickstarter? Cheer Them Up With This Bespoke Preorder

Posted by Fred Hicks / Evil Hat Productions (Creator)

9,000 of you will be getting your copies of the game months ahead of everyone else ... but for those who missed the Kickstarter, we've got the game up for preorder (along with the hotly-anticipated Dresden Files Accelerated RPG) on our webstore as of today!

If you don't mind, please spread the word around — we've still got approximately $200,000 in expected costs to cover that the Kickstarter funds didn't, so every bit of word-of-mouth you can put out there will really help us out, especially coming from such wonderfully supportive and informed folks as y'all. Feel free to wait until your copy arrives so you can speak from actual play experience, of course. :)

Shipping operations are spinning up (or already underway) across the globe. Australia's proximity to China (and the smaller scale of the shipping operation) means they're getting theirs first (a few backers Down Under report receiving their copies already), but we expect everyone will be seeing theirs over the course of the next month-ish, handily beating or landing on our shipping-date target zone of March 2017. Success!

Shipment tracking emails will depend on the practices of the fulfiller serving your area. Some Australian backers appear to have gotten emails from Aetherworks, and I think I've heard from folks receiving theirs out of UK-based GamesQuest who got shipping notifications. Canada's still working on getting the product up to their side of the border, but that's underway. The USA's shipments — by far the largest, with 6500 orders to ship — probably won't get tracking, at least not in a timely fashion, simply due to that volume. By the time we see the tracking codes I'm expecting their respective packages will already be delivered in the large majority of cases. :)

Everything's turning up Dresden — I'll drop back in when I have more substantial updates from the shippers to convey, but for now it's time for the sit & wait & eventually receive & open & play & squee game. I'm fond of the last few bits there. Hope you will be too.

Thanks as always for your support!

Oh Canada Part 2: Vancouverites, want to do local pickup? Read this!

Posted by Fred Hicks / Evil Hat Productions (Creator)

Our partners at Starlit Citadel have offered to put together a little launch party for Dresden, taking some copies over to a local geek-themed bar for pickup.

In order to do this, they need to know the number of people who are interested in doing a local pickup.

If you would like to do a local pickup, please send an email ASAP to with the following subject "Dresden Pickup", and in the body of the email, include your name from the Kickstarter, so they can cross reference it with their list of shipments. The sooner Starlit gets the emails in, the sooner they can sort things out with the venue.

They'll pull all the packages for people planning on coming out. Anyone who doesn't pick their up at the venue will have theirs shipped out with the next batch, likely the following day.

The main wrinkle is we don't know exactly which day the shipment will arrive, so once they have the list of all those interested, they'll send out an email to those who responded saying "It arrives tonight!" or something similar, announcing when the games have arrived and will be ready for pickup.

We can't stress enough how much easier it is for them if we get the list of pickups sooner, so please get those in before this coming Wednesday!

Everyone else: soon! It's all sooooooon!

Oh, Canada...

Your turn, Canada.

  • I'll be freezing addresses today so Starlit Citadel can do preparations while they wait for the inventory to make it to them from the USA.
  • I've handed Starlit Citadel preliminary data and I've tallied the add-ons and put the freight order in with Alliance so they can get all the items (DFCO stuff and add-ons stuff) over to Starlit's stateside warehouse for transit up to Canada.
  • I'd estimate the shipping effort to commence (to our 405 paid-up-and-ready-to-go Canadian backers) in roughly three weeks. Could be a little sooner or a little later based mainly on the intersection of freight transit efficiencies and the "we move stuff from the States up to Canada every Wednesday" timing with Starlit.
  • Canadians, too, are lovely people.
  • Enjoy your quivery anticipation!

UK & Other International Shipping Update

Posted by Fred Hicks / Evil Hat Productions (Creator)

This message applies for our International backers who are not in Australia, New Zealand, or Canada. If you're in the USA or one of those three countries, this isn't for you.

  • The core items (core game, three expansions, two bonus character & card variant packets) have arrived with GamesQuest.
  • We're still sorting out what add-ons to ship to the UK to support those orders. Those orders will need to wait a few extra weeks while we get that stuff sorted & shipped across the Atlantic.
  • International shipments not fitting the description at the top of this post, that have only the core items, will begin shipping soon.
  • Therefore, I'll be freezing those relevant addresses today, so I can get the data files over to GamesQuest within the next 24 hours.
  • You are lovely people.
  • Keep doing what you do.

If You Are In the USA, Shipping Starts Very Soon

Posted by Fred Hicks / Evil Hat Productions (Creator)

If you are not in the USA, this message is not for you. :)

I'm going to freeze USA addresses probably tomorrow at the latest, so I can hand a non-changing shipment file over to Alliance by the end of the week.

If you need to change your USA-based shipping address, you need to do it today.

Where do you do it? (Broken record time!) In BackerKit!

Thanks everyone. More soon, after I recover from my recent business trip for the Evil Hat annual meeting and the illness I picked up while traveling. :)

(Apologies for the lateness of this update, I was dead certain it posted earlier today, but here it is still sitting in draft form.)
