DFCO Is On Steam and Mac, Now! Plus a Ghostly Teaser From The Future...
It's Halloween, and that means it's launch day for the desktop version of the DFCO app!
On the Mac App Store:
(Mobile versions, for both iOS and Android, continue to be in the works as mentioned in our last update, and are coming soon. They're just delayed because mobile apps pose some additional challenges that need to get sorted out before those versions, too, can be released.)
I have a problem: [Any customer service issue at all having to do with the app]
100% of these sorts of messages need to be sent by email to firstname.lastname@example.org — Evil Hat can't work any customer service issues having to do with the app, since we're not the publisher of the app: that's Hidden Achievement.
Leaving comments here on the Kickstarter has no guarantee of consistently reaching Hidden Achievement in a timely fashion either; we welcome your conversation, but if you need help with the app or registering your keys for across-all-platforms free access to the expansions, send that email!
Where's the best place to chat about the app?
That'd be over on the Hidden Achievement forum! (Sensing a theme here...)
If I play the app, should I leave a review?
Emphatically yes. Especially for small developers and niche apps like this one, reviews are a make-or-break crucial component of success.
Where's the Ra Deck?
Given that Ra is from a separate intellectual property (Greater Than Games' most excellent Sentinels of the Multiverse) and that that game is already licensed to another app developer (Handelabra), we felt it was better to focus on the primary IP covered by the game (Dresden Files) and avoid any potential IP conflicts around that outlier, promotional deck within the electronic rights space. So, for now, and maybe for good, no Ra. Apologies! You'll have to content yourself with the other canonical 12 decks you'll have available in the game.
But otherwise all the other decks are there, especially once you redeem your keys!
Speaking of the Board Game, Any News About Future Expansions?
Yes, there is some.
Couldn't resist, sorry.
Anyway: Yes! We've been working over the past half-a-year-or-so on expansions 4 and 5, which will cover from Changes up through Skin Game, and feature Kincaid, Mortimer, and two alternative Wintery versions of existing character decks. Playtesting has by and large concluded and art is underway. We've got an eye on releasing these for sale around the middle of 2018, so stay tuned this Summer.
I'm particularly excited about these expansions because I got to work heavily on expansion 4, drafting the decks for Kincaid, Mortimer, and Ghost Story. Probably my favorite card out of all of those is the Soul Train, an Obstacle that marches down the board as you play and makes you lose the game if it reaches Range 1 at a bad time. Couldn't resist a spot of mischief, there. Tho the cruel things I do to Harry's player in the Ghost Story deck are a hoot, too. Like Jim and Eric, I also delight in your tears.
With that in mind, let me conclude this post with a look at some of the art we've got coming in from Tyler Walpole (whose Blood of Dragons Kickstarter is in its final 24 hours now — if you haven't checked it out, today's the day)!
And thank you as always for your support. :)
