FAQs

  • Yes, the Dead Beat dividing organizer in the core game has a typo on it. That deck does not in fact have 23 advantages in it. The typo was caught and corrected in the duplicate divider card found in the actual expansion that contains the deck, so, uhhhhhhh, don't use the wrong one I guess?
  • Sleeves required total to around 350-360 sleeves if you're factoring in the base set plus the expansions plus the bonus decks and variants. You'll want euro poker sized ones, if you're one of them damn dirty sleevers! (It's a madhouse, a maaaadhouuuuse!) Clear on both sides would be useful for a couple of the talent cards. Sleeves are not required for the organizing dividers because that's just nuts.
  • Why yes, you totally should leave a review on Board Game Geek once you get a chance to play the game and I know this isn't really a FAQ topic because where's the damn question Fred but who cares I'm craaaaaaazy Deadly Fredly, I throw caution to the wi—

Status! Report!

Sir, yes sir!

United States

  • Alliance has shipped about 5-10% of the US orders so far. (Keep in mind that's still like 325-650 packages.)  These were most of the complicated/individual attention required orders (i.e., the slowest ones).
  • Tracking information is on a delay, but I will try to email out notices when I get them. For added comedic value, this means that many of you will get the tracking information after the packages are already delivered.
  • The big batch ship-outs of identically composed packages should start in earnest this coming week.

Canada

  • Starlit Citadel done shipped, yo. Should all be on the way if not already delivered.

Australia / New Zealand

  • Aetherworks shipped all the no-add-ons-required ones a while back, giving the folks Down Under the rare opportunity to be the first to receive copies rather than dead last.
  • Add-ons arrived recently and the shipping data file has been handed over, I imagine those will ship out this coming week.

United Kingdom, Europe, Elsewhere

  • About 1,000 shipments have gone out, the ones that didn't require add-ons from outside the DFCO family.
  • The 100 or so add-ons-required ones have not shipped yet.
  • The add-ons arrived at the end of business today, if tracking is to be believed.
  • I'll be handing over the data for the add-ons-required shipments today, so I have every expectation GamesQuest will begin shipping those next week.

Thanks as always for your support. Now please enjoy this musical interlude.

This post went up Friday. Above it clearly indicates that 90% of the US backers haven't had theirs shipped yet — that's the first bullet point — as well as talking about the timing for how tracking notices will go out — that's the second bullet point.

    13. Joseph A Nardi on

I have not received any shipping notice as of yet. I'm in Michigan. Any idea when it will be shipped? I've noticed some backers are starting to get them. However, I'm not one of them as of yet.

    14. Dave Douds on

So, according to the table, the cards are 63x88?
Looks like basic Magic sleeves will be fine then, thanks.

@D Kelly - Tracking reported the add-ons as delivered. I don't have email confirmation from GamesQuest yet, but the delivery happened right in the last hour of their work-week, so that's not a surprise. They've done a good job of sending out tracking to folks they're responsible for shipping to, so that can be your confirmation. My assumption based on this data is that they'll be shipping this coming week.

@Charles Fox - Sorry about that. I think Alliance will pick up the pace considerably this coming week.

@bstern - Well, it's a little narrower and a little taller, or vice/versa (I forget), based on my plugging the numbers into the layout program I use. I'd assumed that's what made the distinction.

Well, balls. I made sure not to addon to my american order so it would ship faster. That back fired.

So just to make sure I'm not being daft: Add-ons for UK /EU backers have arrived with the UK shipper correct?

So (in theory) the remaining orders should start to ship at some point this week?

      @Fred,
C'est la vie. After doing a quick conversion, your chart actually has almost the same sizes for US Poker and Euro Poker, it's just that one is in inches and the other is in millimeters. You might want to find a new chart. On the other hand, if that's the chart your card printer uses, um, I guess use whatever makes them happy?

As someone in America who ordered a simple to ship package, here's to hoping it's not shipping in alphabetical order. In an effort to stay positive, I'm happy for you Australians. Enjoy the game.

So, according to Mayday, that's "Card Game Sleeve" size and neither Euro Poker nor US Poker.

      Mayday green label: https://www.maydaygames.com/collections/card-sleeves/products/card-game-card-sleeves

I'm sure I'll find something to do with the 400 Euro Poker sleeves I ordered. :-)

That's why I like numbers and not descriptions! I'm a low-down dirty sleever, I dunno nuttin' when it comes to Euro vs. American vs. Euro Poker vs. Standard. Millimeters I can work with though - thanks!

The cards are indeed standard size and will fit those sleeves. However what's hugely disappointing is that the insert is completely useless for sleeved cards if you want to make use of the dividers since you won't be able to fit the cards in edgewise... They become too long.

So either you have to stack them in the wells (which is really annoying) or this becomes yet another insert that's going to have to go into the trash :( I suppose going to have to find or make my own insert solution to hold the cards.

I was really hoping based on previous comments that the box/insert would work for sleeved cards...

    28. Sichr on

got my package, planning the unboxing session :)
THANK YOU once again. Brilliant work.

    29. Maria Amparo Bertram on

That size would be "standard card game" (gray label) not Euro size (purple label).

    30. Fred Hicks / Evil Hat Productions 13-time creator
      Superbacker
      on

That sounds a little narrow for poker, you sure that's not bridge? The cards are (IIRC) 63mm x 89mm.

    31. Missing avatar

      TheJTrain on

So "euro poker sized" would be 59mm x 92mm, correct? Fantasy Flight's my default, that's their purple "European Standard Board Game" size.

Not a silly question, Matthew. I imagine it has something to do with "work out the kinks when a screw-up only affects one or two orders, as opposed to today's batch of 500" thinking.

Why was it decided to ship the more complicated things first instead of the straight forward ones ?
