If You're On This List You're Not Getting Your Stuff

The good news is, we've gotten a bunch of responses since my last message!

The less good news is, we're still at slightly over 110 backers who appear to be due a physical shipment, but who haven't responded on BackerKit so they will not be getting one... unless they respond this week.

On top of that, it turns out there's no easy (read as: not-whole-day-time-consuming, efficient, etc) way for me to directly message everyone who hasn't responded to BackerKit yet beyond the weekly reminder emails I've been sending to their Kickstarter email address of record.

And yet, here we are, in the final week before lockdown (I'm aiming at January 10th) past which anyone who hasn't responded yet will either need to get a refund (if international) or at least deal with a delayed shipment (if domestic)! So, I'm resorting to posting a list. If you're on this list, you won't get a shipment on schedule if I don't have your in-BackerKit response by this time next week.

The list:

If you can't get things sorted out in BackerKit yourself:
Send me a private message using Kickstarter's messaging system — today!

We'll get back to our typical updatery after the lock-down's complete and we can forecast more of a trajectory for you. Everything looks to be on track for stuff to arrive in at our shipping centers in the USA, UK, and Australia around the end of the month/start of next.

Thanks as always for your support!

Fred, thanks for clarifying and sorry that I doubled up on my comment about the stragglers. I must have been having a senior moment yesterday. :-)
As you say, 2-3% of the total number of backers is not that big at all. Context is everything.

Okay, I've done the lock-down, but haven't charged cards yet. That'll come soon, but I want to give it a little more time.

Locked down in this case means that those folks who have already responded can't add anything or change anything about the contents of their orders, but they can still change their addresses if needed. This twilight period of changeable addresses won't last for more than another two weeks tops, I suspect, as I'll want to have fixed-in-place targets by February.

Folks who have NOT responded yet still have a few days' grace period to get theirs in and still be part of the initial ship-out effort.

No, it's very normal. Consider also that we're only talking 2-3% of total backers on this project. But inevitably some of them show up several months late after months of warnings and requests to fill out BackerKit, and get upset that their stuff wasn't shipped along with everyone else's (despite that being informationally impossible) — that's the sort of end result I'm trying to head off at the pass, here. :)

Wow Fred, this whole dragging their feet thing strikes me as very weird. Is this a regular thing for a KS program? I can only imagine how it must feel for you as the creator...

If it's any consolation at all I am looking forward VERY MUCH to receiving my goodies. I don't normally buy in on card games, but the subject matter and game design really drew me in.

I hope that the rest of the stragglers play catch up soon.

      No I do not.

But: you are not on the list.

The link for the list appears to not like me. Do you have another way to check?

They *might*. Much depends on how long the process to percolate through customs goes. If it gets us a few extra weeks to ship earlier, we'll use them.

So wait. The packages are going out... ahead of schedule? This has never happened for me before!

You guys are rocking the whole trying to connect with slackers thing. Thanks for being better than 90% of other Kickstarters.

Ah, you could be right about the charging. I suppose that if you moved and it changed the shipping it could weird. But living in London people move constantly.

I'll post on the other side of the fence. THANKS! I was of the impression that you had my survey. According to the list, you do not.

      YIKES!

So, now BackerKit won't give me a link. I could be in trouble here, but at least we've a week to figure it out...

      Thanks again!

So much of an idea I've posted it a few times. In about one week from now I'll have backerkit charge the cards.

Any idea yet when final payment is being collected for this?

(Also the only thing on the list are the public display-names folks have on their Kickstarter accounts.)

It's not the best option but it's the option I had. :) And I've got it hosted in DropBox so I can edit people out of it on request.

Call me cynical, paranoid, or whatever, but I can't shake the feeling that posting this list is a bad idea. But since I haven't had my caffeine yet, I can't figure out why... Hopefully it's not TOO bad...

We do this at work too. No one wants to be on the naughty list.

All I've been able to lock in on is that BK won't let me charge cards until I mark pledges as "locked down". So I'll mark them as described next week, and see where we're at. You can message me privately after that milestone and I'll see if your pledge needs any specific/special/direct handling.

Any update on whether you can avoid locking down the addresses? I know for a fact you don't need to lock down the addresses to lock down the add-ons, as I currently have two other pledges on Backerkit in that state. I'm an international backer who will be moving sometime in late February or early March, so I'm concerned about not having a stable address right when I'll need it, and I don't have a viable alternate address to use.
