10,103 backers pledged $433,365 to help bring this project to life.

FUEGO! KABOOM!

We've detonated the $400,000 goal. Everyone at $10 and up will be getting a ridiculous $110 in PDFs! Dresden Files Accelerated will begin development in 2014. YOU DID IT!

We've got 14 hours to go and some celebrating to do. As part of that celebration, we're gonna do a mixture of backer and money based "silly stretches" at this point. More may get added to this list as time goes on during the day, so drop on by and join in the "ride it on home" comment party!

At 9,000 backers, Fred will post a 6-second video of silliness. ALREADY ACHIEVED! http://vine.co/v/bJgX3lUuhmV (Check his Twitter Feed at @fredhicks for even more Vine-driven silliness.)

At 9,500 backers, Fred will release a soundfile of a selection of his villainous laughs into the public domain!

At $450,000, the Fate Core dingbat font will be released IMMEDIATELY instead of waiting until Fate Core is finalized!

At 10,000 backers, Fred will post a Vine video of him trying to hit the high note in a very rough karaoke cover of Mr. Roboto! Can he do it?! (Can YOU?!)

At $500,000, Fred and Lenny will sing a duet (song of their choice) and post it on youtube. SPOILER ALERT: Only Lenny is likely to be in key.

If we hit $517,256 we'll knock Numenera off of the #1 spot for most funded RPG kickstarter of all time… Ambitious! But if we make it, Fred will pelt Chris Hanrahan (our brand marketing guy and the reason Dresden Files Accelerated showed up as a goal) with a stuffed pony until Chris relents and lets Fred do his Fate based space opera setting! (Just kidding. Chris may not relent. But Fred WILL pelt him with a stuffed pony!)

Feel free to name your own silly (or just awesome) stretch goals (that you will, yourself, fulfill -- no promises on behalf of others!) in the comments below.

Y'all've earned some celebration time, Fate Corps! Party on!

Yeah! My DS books now have PDF buddies!

    2. Creator Carl McLaughlin on February 9, 2013

I know I said it would likely be my only tattoo but I now have the urge to go all "Curse of the Azure Bonds" on it now and get some more down the arm.

    3. Creator Carl McLaughlin on February 9, 2013

And here it is: http://c1150.angrycarl.com/2013/02/et-viola.html I'm very pleased with how it looks. Congrats again Fred on the awesome number of backers!!

Justin has given us the download links; we're going to put them in the next backers-only update.

      Anything updated about Dawning Star?

      The process has started: http://c1150.angrycarl.com/2013/02/about-to-get-bit-more-evil.html
I would have done it tonight, but my group is finally meeting again to play Dresden tomorrow and I didn't want to be itchy and distracted :)

    8. Creator Carl McLaughlin on January 31, 2013

I'll be visiting the tattoo artist Friday, to show the logo, get an idea of pricing and timing, availability for the work.

Someone needs to make a dubstep remix of the "OVER 9000!" soundclip.

    10. Creator Stephanie Bryant on January 30, 2013

The spreadsheet of Silliness has been updated: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc…

I'm including URLs to resources that have been posted, and resources-in-progress.

I'm keeping this updated for now, but expect me to drop down to updating it about once a week after the first couple of days. Good thing to bookmark, though.

    11. Creator Jim Ryan on January 30, 2013

Wow. Guess I'd better get to work. :)

It'll be a little while - I have to wait for FAE to come out after all - but when the setting writeups are ready I'll link to them in a comment here.

For reference, here's a list of the settings we've created thus far: http://wiki.crucibleofrealms.com/settings

Now I just have to decide which ones to write up... ;)

For those who have input on what *needs* to be on an 11"x17" tabletop Fate Core reference sheet (placed in the middle of the table for all to see), email me at otterpooka (@) Comcast [dot] net with suggestions. I plan on making a version that is two 8.5" x 11" sheets so anyone can print the and put them back to back.

    13. Creator VonEther on January 30, 2013

Dawning Star? Oh. That Justin! Awesome. We landed at $433,365. Looking for the links. :)

    14. Creator David Cortijo on January 30, 2013

      Character Sheet generator updates:
      1) I decided to go ahead and do this regardless of backing levels. Was gonna anyway. ;P
      2) I've released the current version to the 4 testers who have emailed me directly. @James Orr, I can get you in the loop too.
      3) I figure it will be somewhere between 4 and 14 days before I'm comfortable enough with the product to do a general release, but will continue to accept more beta testers if you want early access.

    15. Creator Ian Liddle on January 30, 2013

I'll work on the EIGHT MINUTE joke video tonight and will post the link here when complete :)

      $433k. Awesome :-)

    18. Creator John "johnkzin" Rudd on January 29, 2013

I think this has been the most satisfying KS I've been in.
Thank you to Evil Hat, and thank you to all of the other backers... as a fan, this has been a great ride :-)

SECRET SECRET I'VE GOT A SECRET

      :)

    20. Creator parmeisan on January 29, 2013

(Um, for those not following all the way along, my comment just now was in reference to the PDF references I promised as a stretch goal at $425,000).

    21. Creator parmeisan on January 29, 2013

OK, I still hope to expand this a little bit with a couple of the items that I either can't find the file for, or was handwritten, but this is what I can get done by tonight.
      .
      http://agile-games.net/df/
      .
I actually ended up meshing my original character sheets with some better ones that I made for a different Fate system, and converting them to Open Office in the process, so let me know if you find any problems. (parmeisan at gmail). Let me know if there are any other problems, too...
      .
      .
PS. The Accelerated cover ROCKS. (Although you may want to reconsider having "Only $5" there when in places other than the US, that number/currency will probably change....)

    22. Creator Michael R. Bernstein on January 29, 2013

Awesome! We've just unlocked the following 3rd-party rewards at 10k backers:

      * Haphazard Projects will release PDFs of Terminal Insanity
      * John Donoghue will release 2-3 themed character sheets
      * Carl McLaughlin will get an Evil Hat tattoo
      * Nicholas Greder will run a 48 hour session of Fate Core once he receives the game. Highlights will be posted on youtube for all to see.

      And the following at $430k:

      * Ernie Sawyer will create a 11"x17" PDF play mat

Finally, due to both (well, either) goals:

      * Yours Truly will write and release an open source dice-rolling web-app for use on a smartphone or tablet. Write to me at michael (at) fandomhome (dot) com for updates.

    23. Creator Carrie Harris on January 29, 2013

Domo arigato to Fredrik Lyngfalk, who gets to name another character in Sally Slick! Drop me a note at carrie (at) carrieharrisbooks (dot) com to make arrangements! Please! Thank you!

Yeah, that song will be stuck in my head forever now.

    31. Creator David Cortijo on January 29, 2013

I'm not a KS veteran, and so didn't realize there's not a way for direct contact through here. So, for the folks who are interested in a beta of the generator, please email me at my gmail account. Account name is draxiusdotcom (all one word) - and I think you're all smart enough to figure out the (at) gmail (dot) com part. :)

Even a few people (I've noticed 2 in the threads below) would be helpful. Once I'm at a real computer and can make a few of the last changes, I'll respond where I can.

    32. Creator Fred Hicks / Evil Hat Productions on January 29, 2013

We may have doubled the prior record.

    33. Creator Michael R. Bernstein on January 29, 2013

Garth, Since I don't want a roll to require a network request, I'll be using the Javascript random() function.

    34. Creator Michael R. Bernstein on January 29, 2013

Fred, has Fate Core already achieved a record for 'most backers of an RPG kickstarter'?

    35. Creator John C. Faludi on January 29, 2013

This is so awesome! Thanks Fred and everyone that works for and with Evil Hat to bring us so much incredible gaming content! You guys set the standard that all companies should aspire to.

    36. Creator Michael R. Bernstein on January 29, 2013

      All righty.

If the campaign gets to $430k OR 10k backers, I will write and release an open source Fudge/Fate dice rolling web app, suitable for use on a mobile device such as a smartphone or tablet.

    37. Creator Garth Rose on January 29, 2013

Don't worry, Michael, I was joking about 426k, hence the smiley! Out of curiosity, will you be using pseudorandom or true random numbers? I know at least two sites that spit out true random numbers for free, though I don't know what their use policies are.

    38. Creator Fred Hicks / Evil Hat Productions on January 29, 2013

Authors aren't finalized, I was sparing Clark Valentine from being the only name on the cover. ;) More may yet appear!

    39. Creator Garth Rose on January 29, 2013

Nice cover! Only problem, if it is one: The three figures look like they're labelled with the three authors' names. :)

    40. Creator Jonathan Stevens on January 29, 2013

Really liking the cover to Fate Accelerated. Also thanks a bunch for the backer pledge spreadsheet. I pledged more than enough for what I'd like, but never hurts to be sure.

    41. Creator Michael R. Bernstein on January 29, 2013

Garth, like I said, at least one open source app exists: https://github.com/tarmstrong/fudgeroller

      And a minimal non-open-source web app: http://www.fudgery.net/omnium-gatherum/random_df_roller.html

I have in mind something slightly nicer, so I would rather make it a bit more of a stretch. Still leaning to $430k.

    42. Creator Garth Rose on January 29, 2013

By my calculation, if we maintain today's pace to the end, we'll hit 428500 or so. 430k would require an extra push.

    43. Creator Joe on January 29, 2013

Quick question: how many Kickstarters have ever had *contributors* setting and filling stretch goals? This is amazing. Many thanks to all you folks throwing yet *more* valuable content into the basket. You rock.
