Fate Accessories Kickstarter Is Nearing Its Goal, With More Stuff Unlocking Than Before

Quickest possible update this time. The Fate Accessories Kickstarter has reconfigured its funding and stretch goals based on backer feedback, and it means you get more stuff, faster! (It's like a soft relaunch in here...)

We're less than $1000 from funding — and when we fund, it will unlock both the first new Fate Dice set and the new Fate Point tokens (not to mention every shipment will receive free Ghost Dice).

We've also revealed all of the "layered" dice styles and positioned them as our first stretch goals. They're gorgeous and due to their unique construction method they don't look like any other style we've done before. Head on over to the project to learn more and get a look at them!

Thanks as always for your support.

This should be the last one. The change of goals constituted a "soft relaunch" of the campaign, so this is much like posting once for each campaign launch. Seeing as the posts we posted here and to one other KS yesterday made a huge difference in our new campaign reaching funding, I'm afraid there's solid demonstration that the choice to post was very much worth it and correct.

I am interested in seeing announcements of your new products! I am not interested in getting spammed with each new milestone, stretch goal, or 'urgent' campaign marketing. If I was interested in getting those emails I would subscribe to email updates or back your new KS. This is the second time I have been notified about this other KS that I am not interested in.

I am going to keep the email subscription to these updates, but please limit them to one per non-related kickstarter. I am interested in new books and new materials, not accessories. I will unsubscribe the next time.

It's *a* factor. But since you're attacking me on this, I suppose I should dive deeper.

We *could* work on using international fulfillment partners. The individual shipping fees would be less silly. But, we'd still be paying silly fees to get the items to the international distribution centers based on our experience doing exactly that for DFCO. (The current one is our tenth KS, so don't presume we're making this choice absent of data.)

But international direct fulfillment has a number of problems that add up to our choice. Such asthe follow-on problems that very frequently occur with international packages: lost or misdelivered or customs-rejected packages that cause the shipping fees in some cases to be double or triple due to reshipments; needing to overship to those distribution centers in order to make sure they actually have stock in order to do those inevitable replacement shipments; the expense in retrieving any remaining surplus once the main shipping window has closed vs. maintaining a buffer for the inevitable 3-5% of backers who take months if not over a year to respond to requests for them to place their order and provide shipment information; potential loss and damages in transit to that fulfillment center; just to name a few of the factors at play.

It's a hard choice, but if you think we did it as a slap in the face, you're not paying attention.

Oh come on the shipping cost is a shitty excuse. At least make us choose ourselves whether it's worth the shipping cost, or stop bringing that up as excuse and say you don't want the hassle or extra effort. It's a slap in the face of those that did order and kickstart with you.

Ghost Dice have been available for years on our webstore (even prior to us needing to stop shipping internationally from there), but otherwise, no; they're not packaged for resale or anything.

If I could've posted an update only for USA backers of this project, I would have.

And as noted on the project, if you can enlist a forwarding service or other intermediary with a USA delivery address you can certainly pledge.

Either ship outside the US, or stop taunting us :(

I really wish I could back this. Will the Ghost dice be available outside the kickstarter?

Yep, charging people $20-30 shipping to send them products that themselves cost $6-15 didn't sit right with us, not to mention the host of other problems that arise in the international shipping scenario.

      Sadly, it is USA only.
