Dresden Files Accelerated in Final Form (and goes on preorder); Fate Core on Tabletop Debuts on Alpha

The Fate Core episode of Tabletop debuted last night on projectalpha.com — I only managed to catch 15 minutes of it, but it reminded me of a lot of my favorite moments from the shoot. :) Luckily they've got it up as of this morning for viewing on demand.

See? I took a screenshot and everything.
See? I took a screenshot and everything.

The episode featured Ryan Macklin as GM, with John Rogers, Felicia Day, and Wil Wheaton as the players. As I understand these things, Alpha gets the exclusive on hosting the episode (and bonus material) for 6-12 weeks, and then it shows up on YouTube. So if you're willing to hop on board Alpha, great! Enjoy the episode(s). If you're not, no problem! You'll succeed at a cost (overcome action takes more time).

In other news, backers at $10 & up should now have a message in their Kickstarter private message inbox mentioning that the Dresden Files Accelerated PDF has been updated to its final form and is ready for download. In addition, we're "soft-launching" the preorder for the physical book of Dresden Files Accelerated — it'll ship in June — on our webstore right now, along with the Dresden Files Cooperative Card Game, so if you're interested in picking up either of those, you know where to go. :)

We've only got one pending digital deliverable in the works for you — development on Shadow of the Century continues — and this is a huge milestone for us, the delivery of the ultimate stretch goal of this campaign. We couldn't have done it without you.

Thanks!

Many thanks for Bits and Mortar. The first PDF I got that way was for the Dresden Files RPG and it's a pleasure to have a good quality PDF files of the books I physically own rather than torrent poor quality files.

It categorically makes zero sense for us to create a significant product such as this and not sell it into the retail channel. It'll be sold to distro for FLGSes, and it's already supported by Bits & Mortar for folks who prefer to preorder the game through their FLGS and get the PDF same as if they ordered it from our site.

Will DFA be available in stores or only from your website? I might just wait for my FLGS to get it if it is.

So basically, use Volume Two (Our World) as a setting ressource?

There's no "converting" really. You either play one game or the other game. 2010's DFRPG is good as a resource for the setting if you're choosing to play 2017's DFA, but I wouldn't "convert".

Could you release a document to help those of us already owning your previous Dresden Files RPG to be able to take advantage of both editions together? Are there some rules of thumb to convert the extra material from the previous RPG or whatnot?

It’s a great session, well worth watching. And thank you for Dresden Files Accelerated! Have the first session of a campaign of it this Thursday.
