A Quick Update

Dear Backers -

With the apparent failure of the equity crowdfunding campaign, we have taken a step back to regroup and consider a number of options. Some paths forward have been presented to us. We need a few weeks to find the best path forward. As soon as we find that best path forward, you all will be the first to know.

Sincerely, Shon Bury

I backed this project, moved houses 2 times. Ended up 5 year old relationship and started new one. I ended up that relationship as well. I got into college and finished 12 step program. And I still don't have this game, what a joke of a companny or masterful scam artists.

I’m really disappointed with this. I paid for extras and yet there is nothing. It is ridiculous.

No update since May? can we please get some news as to what happened to our beloved Evil Dead 2 boardgame?

So... what seems to be the consensus on this project? I back liked 275.00 in extras and deluxe.

Maybe light and the end of the tunnel.…
Looks like Lynnvander (another company on kickstarter are looking to get the base game out in future. Unsure what part Shon Bury played in this process as details are light in regards to process followed to get game assets already designed?

    6. Albert T. Almanza on

So..... this game is just dead and gone? What happened? I thought everything was pretty much printed and just needed to be shipped. Apparently not the case? Are we getting a refund? Are we even going to get an explanation? Anything?

    7. Michael Liebhart on

Would be nice to get the artwork to print and play.

There's no trace of the company online or via phone... they've shut down any method of communication. You're not getting your money, folks. Your best bet is hoping that the Jasco campaign linked below is successful.

      I need information on either:
      1. Receiving a full refund
      2. A concrete ship date (I'm still very interested in the game)

I would hate to be forced to escalate this awkward situation. Numerous deadlines have been missed. Projected timelines for completion and shipment have been pushed back countless times already - it's now October 2018. You admitted to prioritizing other projects over this one, even though this project started well before the others. That irritated many of us, but nobody foresaw what was to come. This project has been besieged by myriad "delays," which now appear to be little more than smoke and mirrors.

Other backers were livid last year by these avoidable delays, but I continued to support you. I understood how challenging it could be to bring a project like this to fruition; however, it appears as if you've been misleading all of us for some time and had no intention of honoring your agreements.

We're now supposed to play the role of patsy, but I suspect that some of us have the resources to prevent that from occurring.

I look forward to your future updates.

First Dystopian Wars and now this. I will not be doing any more Kickstarters. Between the two I have lost around $300. The campaign always makes it look like your getting a great price over retail but the truth I have learned is that the products never sell for full retail cost. This is the last time I get suckered into any more Kickstarters.

    21. Thomas Edward Walker IV on

will the game ever be shipped or is there a real refund coming?

So, you said a few weeks, it’s been much more than a few months. Update please.

"If anybody wants their dice, it appears that the warehouse holding them has given up and is auctioning them off to cover their own expenses:"

This is completely ridiculous, he has vanished and all of us are left empty handed, even the warehouse storing PAID merchandise! It will likely amount to nothing but I've written Kickstarter reporting this campaign.

How the hell are we going to get our money back?

It has been a good long time since our last update. Is there any news on when we will be getting our games?

    32. Erik Takács on

They truly made an anus from their mouth:

"We have prepared as much as possible with our production for a successful Kickstarter, however we will refund pledges if for some unforeseen reason the game cannot be delivered at all."

Copied from the Risks and challenges.

Well no surprise fans loss at the end, I was really looking forward to play the game and now I guess was another scam. lesson learned. At this point I guess they will never refund the money. But remember what goes around comes around.

Looking through Shon’s Facebook you can see he was game testing “game buds” in December 2017. The copies of game buds looked pretty complete and much further along than Evil Dead ever was. I would be shocked if this game wasn’t developed with the Evil Dead money.

My money is Monday seeing Lynvander and maybe Dynamite studios taking over the Evil Dead and Terminator board games for free while Shon gets to keep his so called self created games. We get some sort of game, lynvander restore and boost their reputation, dynamite’s Army of Darkness Kickstarter succeeds and Shon gets to crawl off Scott free with some creative licences to respawn with.

Everybody wins, even the cowardly bastard Shon.

    42. Chimera's Comics on

I’m most disappointed because I really wanted to play this game.

      Is there any update available?

How did they blow three quarters of a million dollars?

    43. Jason Stimac

Kick starter has to hold this guy accountable for the amount he ripped us off. Hell this is the reason I don’t back the site anymore.

    45. Jordan

I think we're probably SOL. Their website is offline. Their Facebook page hasn't been updated in over 3 months. Their Twitter account has been taken over by a bot. From all that, the company has probably gone under, or is in the process of shutting down. I don't think we're getting our refund.
