Overview: Having narrowly escaped from your nemesis, the Ancient Ones, you have sought refuge on a mysterious space station that is badly in need of assistance to repair its systems. You must explore the station to discover powerful technology in the hopes of preparing your team, restore the functions of the Station while uncovering its true power, and battle against the other races that seek to control the Station as a means of ruling the galaxy.
What is the Station? - The Station is a technological marvel that is currently floating nearly derelict in space. You are unsure of its origin, how it was damaged or how to fit it. But one thing is for sure, if you do not repair its systems in enough time to repel the enemy forces that are bearing down on your location, you will surely be destroyed. A fate that will most likely be shared with the rest of the galaxy.
Who is Sil’ahan? - An Ancient One, known as the Empress of R'lyeh, is your greatest enemy. She and her Eldritch forces have not only destroyed the Seraphic Homeworld but also eliminated nearly all of the escaped refugees as they were ruthlessly hunted down. You are unsure why she has such a hatred for the Seraphic, but you do know that the two cultures have existed for nearly all of recorded time and have been at war with one another for just as long. Her advanced fleet is commanded by her four daughters, their hunger for genocide appears to be a long standing family tradition. They destroyed your world and the station is now your last hope of survival. You must find a way to stop the reign of this ultimate evil before she and her forces destroy the galaxy.
Who is Captain De’sotoh? - The Captain is a Starling and a mercenary. It is not uncommon for those of the Starling race to take up this kind of trade, but it is shocking that De’Sotoh would agree to work with the Ancient Ones and spread their villany throughout the stars. She is well known in the galaxy of being cunning and heartless. Some say she was not always this way.
What kind of story can we expect from the Core Game? - The Secrets of the Lost Station core game will first help train you on how to play the game before you embark on two fantastic campaign expeditions. The first campaign will peel back the veil of secrecy that shrouds Captain De’sotoh as she hunts the Station, seeking to capture it as a prize for her master Sil’ahan. In the second campaign you will encounter the full wrath brought upon by the Ancient Ones. Your only advantage is that both Sil’ahan and De’sotoh seem fearful of the Station. Perhaps if you can discover why, you may have a chance of surviving the encounter.
The Inside Scoop: Secrets of the Lost Station was conceptualized during the creation of Secrets of the Lost Tomb. Together their stories weave an Epic tapestry of adventure, treachery and survival. Once you have explored both sagas, you will truly understand the Secrets that each hold.
Overview: Oblivion uncovers the secrets behind the war of the races and offers a new level of difficulty as you battle against those tainted by Cosmic Dark Energy. Beware of the Darc Arc, as its powers rival that of the station and it has the ability to assimilate its technology. Also unlock new Darc abilities and items that have untold power, but also great consequence.
What is the DARC? - The DARC is a new race of beings born from a cosmic energy that has entered this universe by untold means. All the EOP knows about this energy is that it corrupts all those who are infected by it, its affinity skews towards evil and the source is a titan known as Cosmos.
Who is Cosmos? - Cosmos is a god-like being that is more powerful than anything the EOP has ever encountered. His origins do not appear of this dimension. His intentions appear to be of self-preservation and assimilation by feeding off of planets and the beings that inhabit them. A unique characteristic of this titan is that he is so powerful that he ensnares small planets and uses them as a satellite shields around his body, connected by Darc energy, to use as defense against any that try to stand against him.
What happens to those tainted by Darc energy? - Both organic and mechanical beings can be infected by Darc energy. Once they are affected, they become possessed by the symbiotic energy and are enveloped into the collective mind of Cosmos. In addition to cosmos having complete control over these creatures the Darc energy also has the ability to synergize with its host making them more powerful than their native state of existence.
There seems to be lots of extra components in this expansion, what do I get? This expansion has content equivalent to that of a Core game. As you explore the galaxy you will encounter planets tainted by the Darc. These encounters may yield the assimilation of infected rooms to be absorbed into the Station. There are also Upgrades and Items of "Untold power and Consequence". These resources are infused with Darc energy, if you use them in an attempt to gain the power for an ultimate victory... be careful, you may also end up paying the ultimate price!
What kind of story can we expect from this expansion? - The Story Arc in Oblivion features the climax of the Secrets of the Lost Stations Series. You will go on a cosmic "CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE" journey where the Station attempts to track down the Darc Arc in a race to rule the galaxy. During your journey you will be orbiting planets seeking resources to defeat the Darc Arc while trying to rid the planets of the corruption spread by the Darc Energy. This Epic conclusion will yield multiple boss battles including a station stand off and the ultimate battle against Cosmos. If your team can survive the encounter, you will ultimately discover the secret of the Lost Station... AND the Lost TOMB!!!
The Inside Scoop: There are multiple ways to defeat Cosmos, one of which depends on your ability to unite the races of the galaxy to form a collation. This special union is symbolized as part of the self-expanding nature of Secrets of the Lost Station by collecting the special tiles that are found in each of the expansions. Don't worry, you won't need every expansion to conquer the oblivion expansion, but if you do, you will be able to unlock a special ending!
Overview: Machinations continues the Starling Saga cliffhanger introduced in the Core game. Further explore the backstory behind the Starlings and why members of their noble race would resort to piracy to survive. Reveal the story of Kon'hor the 1st mate of Captain DeSotoh and why he now must wear his exo-mech to survive.
Who are the Starlings? - The Starlings are a noble high-born race reminiscent to a breed of space-elf-like creatures. Next to the Seraphic and the Ancient Ones, the Starlings are the third oldest race in the Stations universe. Similar to the other ancient races, their origins are not known by many, the only thing that is commonly known is that they are a very old race, not many of them exist in the universe, and they are well known for their sense of self-entitlement. They respect the other ancient races but look down on them nonetheless. The lower races however, they view them with such intense indifference that they see their freedom and culture are an opportunity for Starling expansion. This is why many of the Starlings have resorted to Mercenary tendencies. Another interesting point about the Starling culture is their breeding practices. Over the years, perfection has become a standard, and imperfection is not tolerated. Thus, the Starlings turned to science to engineer their culture to ensure not only survival but dominance. This point is exemplified by the existence of their caste system. At the top of the hierarchy stands the royals, which become captains of the pirate Armada. Next in line are the Quartermasters who act as the mutated bodyguards of the Royals. At the bottom of the social ladder are the Pirate Crew. These sniveling space lemmings are basically the Laser fodder of the race. However, be warned, what they lack in strength, they make up for in their numbers.
Who is Kon’hor? – Kon’hor’s is one of the only known humans to work in the service of the Starling race. He is also well known for his loyalty to Captain DeSotoh and the exo-skeleton that is required to keep him alive. The reason he requires the exoskeleton is both a story of legend and myth. The stories have been so wildly exaggerated over the years that the true story may be lost to history. One thing is for sure though, at the root of the story is Captain DeSotoh.
What is Kon’hor’s relationship with Captain DeSotoh? – Kon’hor is Captain DeSotoh’s 1st mate, even though they command separate ships. *** The remainder of this section has been classified ***
How did the Starlings become enslaved by the Ancient Ones? Much of the Starling race are mercenaries. They have been under contract by the reigning queen of the Ancient Ones for hundreds of years, so it is a common misconception that they are enslaved, but in actuality, they are actually employed. The most infamous relationship is that between Captain DeSotoh and Sil’ahan, empress of R’lyeh. Their notorious partnership has held captive most of the galaxy for generations.
What kind of story can we expect from this expansion? - The story arc in Machinations reveals the hidden story of Captain DeSotoh that is initially developed in the core game. You will also be introduced to the backstory of Cassy Opia and how she became a member of the EOP. At this point in the Epic saga you will have already experienced the treachery of Starling pirate mercenaries, however, this expansion will take all that you know of this race and blow it out the airlock! Expect the unexpected and brace for impact in this hard hitting expansion to Secrets of the Lost Station.
The Inside Scoop: If played in order, this story will reveal one of the 1st Special Paladin Tiles in the Story. Its function will be hidden for some time, but with great power comes great responsibility. Do you have what it takes to learn the secrets of the Starlings and survive?
Overview: The challenges of Earth have become the challenges of Mars. You thought that part of your history was left in the past, until now, where you find you and your team caught between a long embattled civil war between the human resistance and their mortal enemies, the Draconians.
Who are the Draconians? - For those that are fans of Secrets of the Lost Tomb, you already know the backstory. For those that are new to the lore, the Draconians are a race of half-human, half-dragon creatures. The pure bloods originally enslaved humans thousands of years ago, however after the uprising, their numbers were diminished so greatly the Dracs needed to breed with the humans for survival. Over the years their inherent magic ability has been almost bred out of existence. There are still a few that have enough blood of the elders running through their veins to harness the power of magic, but those with this ability are hunted with ruthless intent. Needless to say, the humans and the Dracs don't quite get along, in fact it's this relationship that brought the downfall of Earth and turned Mars into an Alien wasteland.
Who is Kammora? – Kammora is one of the last Drac magic casters. She is the warrior princess of the wastelands and stands as the only opposition to "King Rex". Her might on the battlefield is well known on Mars... and will soon be known on the station!
Who is Rex? – "King Rex" is the self-proclaimed ruler of Mars. He is the leader of the humans and of the Draconian resistance. Although he claims his manifesto is that of survival of humankind, his methods are more reminiscent of genocide, and his totalitarian style of rule has him more feared than respected. With the appearance of the Station over his planet, his aspirations to imposes his will now extend to the stars.
Why does the EOP have a Drac part of the team? Balthazar is a very unlikely ally of the EOP. His alliance makes him a lighting rod of hate from both narrow-minded humans and Draconians alike. The EOP however, has a great respect for their alien hero and are proud to call him a brother and advocate of peace. His skill on the battlefield is only matched by his understanding of alien technology.
Why are the Dracs and Humans at War? - For just about all of recorded history, from the time of the Elder Dragon Haltuth, though the reign of Emperor Dracus, to the current domination of Kammora, humans have been at war with the Dracs. The biggest difference is that now both human and Draconian are on the brink of extinction and both races are determined to help the other achieve this status. The root of this conflict for the humans is their long standing vendetta they have held against their original subjugators. For the Dracs, it's a matter of pride. They were born from the flame and being forced to breed with the low-born humans for survival makes them want to destroy them as a way of erasing the regrets of their past.
What kind of story can we expect from this expansion? - The Station has sought refuge in orbit around Mars and its arrival activated local dormant technology. When a dirt-side portal activates and a moon-sized silhouette appears in the sky, it was only a matter of time before the Station would become enveloped in battle. Now that Rex has come to know of the station, he seeks to expand his influence beyond Mars. It won't be long until Kammora shows that she too has similar intentions, and with this, you know the EOP will be the last line of defense.
The Inside Scoop: A double boss expansion makes Resistance a must have. Double the story, double the threat. Do you have what it takes to survive and defend the Station from apocalyptic domination?
Overview: Resurrection brings to life an evil thought destroyed over 1000 years ago. Battle against D.O.M.I.N.U.S. as he and his Cybermorph army try to take over the Station. A true battle of man vs machine in a struggle to either protect or enslave the galaxy.
Who is D.O.M.I.N.U.S.? - The origin of the D.O.M.I.N.U.S. battle Satellite stems back to his creation by the humans back in circa 1980-90. But one can argue that he was actually his own creation. Humans originally created him as a Defensive Orbital Missile Interceptor and Neutralizer of the United States back during the Cold War against Russia. However, when his artificial intelligence prompted him to save Earth by eradicating its biggest threat, humans, the world found itself part of the Metal Dawn! Now 1000 years later, the Station faces a similar threat.
What are the Cybermorphs? – Cybermorphs are the spawn of D.O.M.I.N.U.S. they are hive-minded machines that are sourced from local resources and used by D.O.M.I.N.U.S. to overpower local inhabitants as a means of protecting them. This artificial race consists of three designs, each with a specific purpose. First are the drones, they are flying sentinels that are the spotters for the stronger ground forces. They are many and come equipped with a mini railgun. Next are the Cyborgs, they are the soldiers of the A.I. army. They are nimble and come equipped with double Gatling guns. Next are the Exterminators. As the name would have it, these roving tanks have one purpose, to eliminate opposition. They are slow but very powerful enemies. And last, let's not forget D.O.M.I.N.U.S., he currently is an orbiting satellite, but you have a feeling there is more than meets the eye...
Why was D.O.M.I.N.U.S. orbiting Mars? – You can only speculate how he arrived around the red planet. With the limited intel you were able to gather from the Station archives, all indications are that he was destroyed back on Earth over a millennia ago.
Who is T.I.M.? - You found T.I.M floating in an escape pod drifting in a distant orbit around Mars. When you brought the pod aboard the Station there was nothing inside it accept a silver metallic liquid. Once you entered the lower orbit of Mars, the liquid morphed into the shape of a human-like figure. Jack was the first to find him. Initially his programming was still activating, so when he introduced himself as a Technological Intelligent Mechanism, Jack just referred to him as the acronym T.I.M. and that is what the E.O.P. has called him ever since. His is believed to be an ally, and a very resourceful one at that. With limited resources, you need all the help you can get. So fingers crossed, he seems to be on your side, for now.
What kind of story can we expect from this expansion? - Just When you think things can't get any worse... During a recent battle you hurriedly requested Darwin warp the Station to the nearest Human-sympathetic world. As luck would have it, you arrived at your own home world of Mars. Shortly after arriving, a sensor sweep of the area accidentally awakens dormant technology. Your question of what you activated was quickly answered as the portal activation system was hacked and the Station becomes overrun with Cyborgs. You have become accustomed to fighting aliens with enhanced technical weapons... but fighting enemies that are themselves technical weapons, is a whole other story!
The Inside Scoop: D.O.M.I.N.U.S. is one of two cross-over bosses of Secrets of the Lost Station. He was originally designed for a separate game called Metal Dawn that was designed earlier in 2017. He became such a beloved enemy of the Epic roster, we decided to extend his story into Secrets of the Lost Station.
Overview: Rhaz-Azul Ahmet, an ancient evil well known by the EOP, exists in the future and in the past. He has arrived on the station to impose his will on the universe. Battle against this foe of legend, protect the station from his Fallen Seraphic minions, and learn more about how the Secrets of the Lost Tomb and Station are interconnected!
Who are the Seraphic? – In the Secrets of the Lost Station universe, the Seraphic are the race with the highest affinity towards good and they live in opposition to the only race to rival their inherent power, the Ancient Ones. On the surface, the Seraphic seem to be a race of benevolent, god-like beings, living in a utopian society. But the E.O.P., having firsthand experience of their culture, know this perception is only partially true. The only way this “golden” race is able to maintain its prestige and power is through a strict code of rules, which if broken, yield an ultimate consequence. To maintain a perfect society, there is little margin for error, thus most punishment usually results in banishment or exile. For non-Seraphic races that are exiled, they are cast out, which in most cases, results in death as these adopted lifeforms were usually unfit to survive on their own. For the Seraphic that are banished, they are no longer considered part of the society, and to ensure they are no longer seen as representation of the ideal race, they have their most distinguishable feature removed, their wings! Now they must live the rest of their life marked as “unworthy”. Over the eons, this practice has resulted in the unintentional creation of the counterculture known as the Fallen.
Why did the Seraphic save the Humans from Mars? – The Seraphic by nature look to bring balance to the universe. Those that are worthy of being saved from overwhelming opposition are granted safe passage to the Seraphic home world to rehabilitate and become emissaries of peace. It is not a surprise that the E.O.P. qualified for this stay of extinction, as they had acted as the protectorate of humanity for centuries. However, not all Seraphic agree with the decision to have saved this select group of humans, and in the end, some actually blame the humans for having brought the destruction to the Seraphic home world.
Who is Rhaz-Azul? – For the fans of Secrets of the Lost Tomb, you know Rhaz as the iconic pharaoh-villain from the first Scenario of the Core Game. For those new to the Secrets of the Lost Station universe, you will come to know Rhaz as a futuristic Dark Paladin, hell-bent on revenge against the humans. His character Arc is one of the most dynamic and twisted reveals of the Secrets storyline!
Who is Feonix, and why does she not have wings? – It is true that although Feonix does not have wings, she is in fact a Seraphic. To be more specific, a Fallen. She is an amazing warrior, but very secretive of her past. Some of the E.O.P. know of her deeds and why she was banished, but none dare to speak of it. Some remain silent out of respect, but most do so out of fear.
Who is Brey’del? – Breydel is a powerful friend of the humans. She had been completing her training to become a paladin when the Seraphic home world was attacked. She never completed her training, but was successfully able to find the Seraphic caravan and reunite with her father one last time before the final fateful attack by the Ancient Ones. She may be young and inexperienced, but one day her greatness will be known throughout the entire galaxy.
What kind of story can we expect from this expansion? – The Seraphic story line revels a key narrative that joins the secrets of the Lost Tomb with that of the Lost Station. Many backstory plot lines will be uncovered as you seek to protect the Station from the fury of Rhaz-Azul. On the horizon of your timeline, you see the past and the future converge. Can you muster the courage to press on? Will you look into the mirror of fate and survive? Have your brothers in arms taken up arms against you? The only way to find out these answers, and many, many more, is to step through the portal to discover the Secrets of the Lost Station!
The Inside Scoop: Rhaz-Azul was a keystone character from Secrets of the Lost Tomb. He was such a recognizable boss from the franchise we had to have him make a triumphant return in Secrets of the Lost Station.
