You receive an invitation from the mysterious man known as “The Host” to take part in a contest at the infamous “Grind House.” The letter promises you the opportunity to play a game to win a reward greater than you could possibly imagine, 10 Million Dollars - with the only requirement to stay alive for 12 hours in the house.
You arrive at a decaying mansion on a hill along with five others as your well dressed host ushers you inside. He says in a deep, ominous voice. “The entertainment will be… to die for!” Behind you, the door slams shut and you and your fellow guests are trapped as the game begins!
Get an EPIC horror narrative experience in 20-30 minutes with up to 6 players!
"Grind House" is a narrative horror game for 2-6 players where you would be considered lucky if survival only costs an arm and a leg. While survival is the ultimate goal, each player has a classic archetype with a secret motive. Some characters like the Doctor may try to keep everyone alive, while the psychopath with surely attempt to split everyone apart. Others, like the Pianist, just want to keep their hands intact.
For those unfortunate souls who do perish in the house, the game is not over. Players may return as ghosts to haunt the remaining survivors as they try to make it through the Grind House unscathed. After exploring all 5 randomized rooms in the house, any survivors left total up their score to determine the winner.
Krampus has taken over the Grind House to make sure you have "bloody" good time this holiday season. The Krampus expansion is being added for free to both "An Arm," and "An Arm and a Leg" pledge levels as a special gift to all our backers for helping us get the project funded!
In Grind House, players assume the role of a character who is in need of a great deal of money... someone who desperately needs the 10 Million dollar prize!
This person also has a secret persona, perhaps their job (Maybe they're a Doctor?) or a unique mental state of being (Maybe you're a Masochist?).
After choosing your character board and getting a random persona card, you then get a random Item card which can be used during the game to help you out! Usually they're a one time use.
Once you have your character (and all of your injury tokens), persona and item cards and 1d6, the game begins!
When a Room Card is chosen, it is flipped over and read aloud to all of the players. Each one is unique and will pit the players against each other for survival. Sometimes Volunteers are needed, and other times you will Vote for the players to come to harm.
Many rooms come with difficult choices where players will be forced to get injured to move forward... better hurt ... than dead.
However, death also may come, and if you die, you become a Ghost that will haunt the other players and still influence the game... and surprise... you may still win yet!
Once four rooms have been explored, there's one "Final Room" ... survive that, and escape the Grind House. The player with the most points at the end, is the winner!
Points are tallied up by having the most uninjured body parts, as well as any other secret objectives your persona might have!
Good Luck surviving... the Grind House!

Risks and challenges
This is our 15th Kickstarter Campaign, and there are usually some vague areas in terms of timing when it comes to anything normally produced in China, such as:
Due to the logistics of international shipping, backers in different regions of the world may receive their rewards later than others, but this is normal as with all Kickstarter campaigns.
We know what it takes to print a big game. Secrets of the Lost Tomb, our first title, now has 14 SKUs including expansions and miniatures.
That means we have produced an astounding amount of different boxes of game product for our past campaigns.
We endeavor to please our backers in any way we can! We want you to enjoy our games, our stories, and our creations to their fullest. If there is anything that we can ever do to make your experience better, we're always here to help!
Our Motto is "Of the Gamer, by the Gamer, and For the Gamer!" we know what it's like to be Ignored by Project Creators, to never get an email back from a Game Company, to have to post on a blog to get a response... We're not Like that... Here's the President of our Company's email...
