Everyday Africa, founded in 2012, is a collection of mobile phone photography striving to rise above media-driven stereotypes that depict the continent primarily as a place overrun by conflict, disease, and poverty. As photographers who are native to Africa or have lived there for years at a time, we find the extreme not nearly as prevalent as the familiar, the everyday.
