Too often we make decisions based on convenience or ease, and seldom we face the chance to rise above it all in pursuit of virtue. BANDITO is about a boy who doesn't choose silence, it's about a boy who goes to extraordinary measures in order to save lives.
This is a film about the path to true courage, the power within each of us. If you believe in this message, please show your support and contribute to the realization of this film. Every dollar truly helps.
Our film is carefully crafted to connect with all audiences. This is a story that everyone can relate to, a call to action that everyone is ready to hear. Our movie will entertain, as well as reinforce the important message that within each of us lies a great capacity for courage that can change anything.
Since the death of his parents, all 14-year-old Jamie wants is to feel capable. To feel in control. To feel like a man.
When his older brother Scotty is headed out with a local gang to hold up a semi-truck, Jamie tags along, convinced this is his chance to prove his worth to himself and his brother.
The night of the heist, as everything falls apart, Jamie finds himself becoming the kind of hero he never could have anticipated.
OUR TEAM HAS ALREADY RAISED $12,000 FOR THIS FILM!
But we still need your help to reach our goal and bring this film to the silver screen! Your generous support will go towards:
SPECIAL EFFECTS - Weapon effects and pyrotechnics require strict safety protocols and experts on set.
VISUAL EFFECTS - Although we'll utilize pyrotechnics, most of the blaze will be done through CGI. For this, we'll work with experienced visual effect artists in post-production and on set.
LOCATIONS/PERMITS/INSURANCE - We've choosen incredible locations that will bring this story to life. Our main characters live out of an auto-body shop that we will shut down for production. We are also closing down the road on which key action occur.
PICTURE CARS & ART - Our picture cars are characters in the film. We can't have a truck robbery without a truck! We need your help to get an actual semi-truck (with a licensed truck driver) as well as other picture cars. In addition we plan to use high quality cinematic props and costumes.
EQUIPMENT - Our goal is to make a very ambitious project on a micro budget, but we will not compromise on the quality. With your generous help, we can rent camera and lighting equipment to make BANDITO look beautiful.
Our producers have the experience to ensure these funds are used properly and to their maximum potential. No dollar will be wasted. Every team member is working for free, out of love for this story, so every cent is used to enhance the production value.
To express our sincere appreciation, we have created amazing, meaningful rewards for all of our funders. If you love this idea, but can't back our film -- don't fret! By sharing this Kickstarter with friends and fellow movie lovers, you are helping us reach a larger audience! We are excited to bring this inspiring story to the world, and we thank you for support in any way.

1. How do you plan on setting a semi-truck on fire?
Although there will be some small fire elements on set, the majority of the fire will be done with computer generated effects. This is achieved with the help of a VFX supervisor on-location, as well as smoke and lighting effects. An excellent example of how this works is illustrated in the recent film "Skyfall":
Risks and challenges
This film is being crafted with great passion by a very talented crew. You know that old adage -- when hard work and love come together, there is no ceiling on potential.
Still, this is a very ambitious student film with many moving parts. Stunts, effects, and emotionally demanding performances are just part of the puzzle. In our drive to tell a truthful, resonating, and emotional story, we are preparing for any and all conceivable hiccups in production. Our high standards push us towards over-preparation. No detail is overlooked.
Our entire team is working for free, because we recognize the importance of getting this story out there. Now more than ever, people need to remember the deep, resounding courage that sits within each of us.
That goal is what drives us forward -- not money. Our time and talents are poured into this project because we believe in it. We believe in what we can do with it.
We hope you believe in it too.
No one is saying it will be easy -- no one thinks it will be. We're calling every favor, every free meal, every friend we have, to get this film made.
It is with the generous support of our community and the world at large that this film will become a reality.
It's with YOUR support -- that this film becomes a reality.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
