About this project
Support the Band – Support the Cause
This Kickstarter aims to make a unique band’s musical dream a reality. After several years of successful touring, LoveLikeViolence has been writing non-stop to produce songs for their first album. Completing this record is really special to them for a number of reasons, because they’re perfecting their sound while crafting songs with purpose and a powerful message!
A lot of you have supported LoveLikeViolence, traveled many miles to attend their shows and even spent time with Stephanie, Stephen, Tony and Nate one-on-one. So you know they’re truly a talented, dedicated band.
LoveLike Violence – To Spread Love Like People Spread Violence
The husband-and-wife team at the core of the band has united their love of music and relationship with GOD to create a high-energy, inspirational experience called LoveLikeViolence.
From small venues in their home base of Canton, Ohio, to increasingly larger churches, festivals, and concert venues worldwide, they’ve created a sound that resonates with audiences across cultures and musical genres. Stephanie and Stephen Spencer blend their voices to inspire and share their love of the world through music, bringing a message of peace with an indie rock sound that sometimes borders on ‘punk.’
The band’s name is more than catchy; it epitomizes the couple’s vision of a world made peaceful through inspirational music. Their desire to spread love with the same energy so many people use to spread violence has allowed them to communicate their joy, love of music, and GOD’s love to the masses.
Though they collaborated as a twosome for several years, the Spencers knew their journey would eventually introduce them to artists that shared their musical outlook and spiritual vision. While touring, they added two musicians to the band – bassist Nate West, and (later) drummer Tony Saffell, formally of Inhale Exhale (previously released through Red Cord/Sony Music). With two new talents integrated into the group, LoveLikeViolence's lineup and vision were complete.
They now have a strong, powerful presence across the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Europe. With thousand of followers on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, social media has boosted the band's presence and the love is spreading quickly.
Their Inspirational Christian Rock reaches a diverse group of fans. With a sound comparable to Evanescence, Skillet, and Paramore, original songs such as “Robot Dreams,” “Arms,” and “Skittle” have positioned LoveLikeViolence in a more mainstream way, while broadening their appeal.
“Their high-energy stage show, combined with many powerful songs, make them a must-see live band!”
By making a generous donation to this campaign, you are giving LoveLike Violence the opportunity to record a breakout debut that encapsulates their musical and spiritual vision. Your gift will be supporting committed grassroots artists, giving them a chance to fulfill their creative dreams.
You will be putting faith in us through your prayer and support.
I first saw this band perform on YouTube and was blown away by their sound and even more impressed with their professionalism. With over 15 years in the music industry, including 8 years with Sony Music, I understand the process of budgeting and the costs associated with producing a record – from initial production through publicity.
There is a lot involved in producing a record, especially for independent artists without major label backing. We’ve put together a brief, bare-bones budget of $100,000, *** but we really need more.
We’ve budgeted for:
• Production, Engineering, Studio Time
• Professional Styling
• Album artwork
• Blu-Ray/DVD Authoring & Manufacturing
• Professional Music Video Production
• Travel from Ohio to New York
• Marketing & Promotion
• Radio Promotion
• Kickstarter Fees (5%)
• Amazon Credit Card Processing Fee (3-5%)
*However, if we do not reach our goal of $100,000, we won’t be able to make the record of our dreams and your credit card will not be charged.

Risks and challenges
We are recording and distributing the first album from LoveLike Violence. This means there is a lot more pressure and work on our end than normal. There are pro's and con's to releasing an album independently, but I feel that between my experience in the music industry, and LoveLike Violence's enthusiasm, talent and amazing family, friends, & fans across the globe, we will not only accomplish this project, but come out of it with the one of the greatest album's ever made.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
