My First Enamel Pin!
The Answer enamel pin is based on a vector artwork I created, inspired by my favourite book, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. The artwork featured a number of ideas from the book in a minimalist negative space design. Now, you can get the cute li'l whale and bowl of petunias as the perfect enamel pin to show your geek pride.
By backing the project, you can get your hands on one of the first pins made, and help make them a reality. I want to make at least 100 in the first batch, so that's the main goal. Of course, it would be pretty awesome to push past it, and get enough pledges to get a larger run done.
The pin itself will be a 25mm badge with a black rubber clasp on the back. They'll be made in soft enamel, with raised black nickel edges, and shipped on a nice thick backing card made from 350gsm paper.
You can also back for 2 of them with a slight discount, so you can grab one for yourself, and one for a friend!
Stretch Goal - The Bird Guide
A new pin design, based on the Guide Mk II from the fifth and final Hitchhiker's book, Mostly Harmless. This pin will be made as well as the main whale pin, if the project reaches a total of more than £500.
If the stretch goal is reached, any backer in the 1x pin tier can choose which of the 2 designs they get. Any backer in the 2x pins tier can choose to get 2 of the same, in either design, or 1 of each design. That way, you can get one for a friend, or one of each for yourself!
The goal of £300 is enough to cover the cost of getting 100 pins made, getting 100 backing cards printed, and shipping the rewards out.
I'm an indie artist and designer in the South West of England, and I enjoy trying new techniques and mediums. I love to draw animals, and create fun illustrations. You can see more of my work on my website at www.estragonhelmer.com

Risks and challenges
Manufacturing errors: the manufacturer I plan to use offers a warranty against defects and errors, allowing for a repair or replacement to be made. Although this would take more time, it would ensure the highest quality possible.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
