Esington Note among best inventions!
Last December, we introduced the Esington Glass to the world. Thanks to the Kickstarter community, we raised nearly $200,000 and more than 10,000 glasses have been distributed around the world!

About the contruction
The steel core production is very expensive and unusual for any notebook. The lining, stitching and prep work involved in creating a piece like this is only matched by one other manufacturer we know of (Mont Blanc). You can see the outer quality in the pictures, but what you can't see is the work that goes into preparing the core. It requires a special wood fiber wrap, special stitching and tight tolerances.
We hired one of the best in the business to come up with the manufacturing process and design. The result is the sturdiest, highest quality notebook you can buy anywhere at any price.
About microfiber leather
The leather used in the Esington Note is "microfiber leather". It is a synthetic leather that is used in many high-end purses and wallets because it has superior qualities to animal leather. It also generally costs more than genuine leather.

How many of them are brilliant ideas that are slipping away? How many times have you thought "I'll write that down later" or "I'd better not forget that!"? The fact it, we've trained ourselves to simply let these thoughts pass by; to be forgotten forever.
It's too hard to get ideas out of your head.
If you try to use your phone, you have to unlock your phone, find an app, chose the type of input, then tap away at the screen. Every thinking step you take changes your thought - sometimes to the point you can completely forget it!
If you have a notebook, you have to look for a pen. Even if you have a pen with you, you have to fish for it, unbuckle it, orient it in your hand. Then you have to fumble through the notebook to find the right page! That's a lot of thinking steps to go through just to jot down a quick thought. Many times we just try keeping the thought in our head. This robs us of valuable energy and by the end of the day we're exhausted.
Idea creation and writing habits
The more you use the Esington Note, the better you'll become at idea generation. You are training your brain to put ideas into this world instead of letting them slip by or holding them in your head. After using it for a couple of weeks, you'll notice a huge increase in the number of ideas that you are constantly generating. Your brain literally rewires itself and you will become an idea machine.
You'll also get into the habit of writing. If you've ever wanted to be a better writer or reader, this is the perfect first step. The hardest part is getting started. The Esington Note makes it as easy!
The Journey
While I was immersed in the Esington Glass project, I found myself having spontaneous thoughts I really wanted to keep. Sometimes I would try to hold the thought until I could type it out on my phone or computer, but I soon realized that holding thoughts like this is a great way to kill your creativity and zap your energy.
Soon I found myself carrying around a small note pad, but half time time I didn't have a pen with me. I awkwardly stuck a pencil into the spiral notebook. After drawing blood while trying to fish my pencil out of the spiral, I realized I needed to invent something new.
I fashioned an early prototype of the Note with a modified (cardboard core) notebook and small magnets. It worked pretty well, but fell apart after about a week of use. I knew that having a reliable notepad around was critical, and I wanted one I could use forever. I began the search for a leatherworker with experience doing this sort of thing. I found one of the leaders in leatherwork manufacturing and we went back and forth with design choices for more than three months.
After three more months of testing this final design, I believe it's ready for production. I couldn't be happier with how the Esington Note turned out. I take it everywhere I go. I'm 10x more creative and energetic than I was without it.

We have the prototypes completed after 6 months of refinements. The manufacturer has been selected and we are ready to begin production. The complete fulfillment channel has been ramped up and tested. We are ready!
There are always potential issues that can cause delays, but with the experience of two large kickstarter projects under our belts, we are very well equipped to handle them.
